  Got Busted By Wife?She Said She Want Tell.(update)

  i recently picked up the nasty habit of smoking.

  i have been hiding it from my wife for about a month now,(she is still a witness) to make a long story short i only smoke when i drink and go to the casino.

  in lake charles well she busted me and was actually nice about it and said it would be our secret as long as i did not bring them in the house are ever smoke around the kids.. sounds like she might be comming around maybe, i only hope.. anyway i had to tell someone.

  IMO... I think that this *may* come across as a threat to her, and we all know how JWs react to "threats"... the sympathetic ears in the congregation will tell her that "Satan is using him to test you" and all of that garbage. Someone has been filling her head (e.g., that condom-nonesense). I wish I had more to offer; maybe you could try telling her that you didn't marry a cult member, but that's what she's turned into! (yeah, that will go over really well...)

  America Bashing

  with all of the america bashing going on of late, i thought i'd mention the fact that america stands for freedom, as flawed as our system may be.

  you're even free to be critical of the government and it's leaders.

  the many men and women who have died defending this country did so to preserve the rights even of people who hate the u.s. there are many different cultures here, so there are many different attempts at creating laws for the land.

  believe it or not the motives are love, at least in my case.

  i know that sometimes jw's on this board do not show that, but it goes the same with some ex-jw's too.. am i going against wt counsel?

  yes, but i am willing to pay the price to help my fellow man, specially if i see that they blinded by resentment and are going contrary to jehovah's will.. why does the wt give the counsel to stay away from site such as this?

  Hmmm, I'm rereading my post... just as I thought: I didn't mention a single word about "shutting you up." I merely commented on the fact that you obviously feel that you are above the instructions of the FDS. You know that you shouldn't be here, but you are anyway. Too many JWs hide behind the Org when it's convenient, and then "exercise their consciences" when they want to do their own thing. That's hypocrisy at it's height. It's one of the reasons I left the Org in the dust.

  Please don't get me wrong; this is a great forum b/c everyone *can* post here. I appreciate everyone's posts; from the moronic (sorry, Fred) to the inspired (too many to list) because each and every one reminds me that I am an adult, able to make my own decisions, not dependent on Brooklyn, NY to have a relationship with God.

  Does anyone remember the Job drama? (t's been 15 years ago at *least*.)

  Sitting in the nosebleeds, we could hardly see anything, but there were these great, shiny things stuck to "Job" -- I suppose they were the 'boils.'

  My sister, very young at the time, asked my Mom if she could go down and meet 'Job.' When Mom asked why, she said, "I want to know if he'll give me some of his M&Ms."

  We died laughing over that one; still tease her about it today.

  I continue to be amazed by those who do not feel that the "counsel" applies to them. In essence, they are "above" the FDS.

  Go ahead and say whatever you need to say to justify your presence here to yourself. Many of the JWs I have know are really great at "justification."

  Thank you for your kind expressions of love and concern for your fellowman. Please, just don't try to count this as "service time."

  I still haven't come to terms with my beliefs on existence after death, I'm working through too many other things right now to concentrate on this yet. I'm still of the "dead=asleep" class. Just wondering if anyone else has (a.) seen his show, and (b.) what your thoughts are.
