may i add some questions :)
1. technical questions: where did the water come from? where did it go? how come the last surviving herbivores were not immediately killed by the last surviving carnivores? how did fish survive in a mixture of salt and fresh water? how did noah provide the required food for species like pandas (who require very specific food)? how did all the plants survive 1 year under water? did water or light have different properties before the flood or why was there no defraction of light before the flood (= rainbow effect)?
2. an ethical question: why would god choose to kill people (including little children how can hardly be considered evil) in such a cruel way instead of terminating them in an at least painless fashion?
questions over questions and i am afraid the only answer will be ... Jehovah can do whatever he wants! :)

Question for those who believe the bible.
by seven006 ina thread started by realist which mentioned the flood and the disappearance of the dinosaurs got me thinking.
since i do not own a bible i had to download one from the internet to check a few things out (my computer is really pissed at me now).
it's been many years since i read the bible but i needed to be accurate in my research to ask my question.

by D8TA inrecently within the past 30 days, i have had the most odd experiences with teens (16-18).
i'm 30. i'm male (doesn't this mean i'm supposed to be "19" for the rest of my life -according to some women?
) some of the incidents which occured totally blows my mind.

that discussion reminds me very much on the discussion about the good old days. i hardly doubt that new generations get more stupid.

@ heaven:
doesn't have to scientific facts...just any kind of proof would be nice. PS: i like that green smiley! :) -

@ teejay:
there is very good evidence that higher primates and several sea mammals possess conscience and also grieve about the loss of others (dogs seem to show the same behavior...but if they possess real conscience is debatable). -

@ heaven:
in science you do an experiment to proof or disproof a hypothesis. is there any evidence for you that supports that the bible is inspired?

@ Heaven:
it doesn't make you stupid! i know intelligent people who believe in the bible...but you should ask yourself what evidence there is to support your point of view. -

@DAVE:
don't worry too much about the asteroids. you are right, they are on of the very view things that pose a real threat to humankind but fortunately the probability that one hits us during the next century, before we have developed efficient defense mechanisms, is very small. right now it wouldn't help much to discover one thats heading towards us since we don't have the technology to devert such a large object.
about the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs...this was about 60 million years before the first hominids appeared...therefore it cannot serve as the source for the biblical myth since noone was there to record these events. -

but animals died long before Adam and Eve were even created (otherwise Dinosaurs and other long extinct species would have lived with them in eden)... hence there must have been suffering of these animals before the original sin. am i missing something?

brief question: if the sin committed by adam and eve is responsible for suffering how can one explain the fact that animals died long before that event? or are animals not considered to suffer?
