  i've spent some time over at the starlite cafe poet's corner-some great stuff.

  i've found many poems to copy in my journal.

  i find this very theraputic.

  Been there, done that. Was told by an elder that it "wouldn't look good to the world" for him to visit with a severely depressed sister alone in her apartment....even if she did say she wanted to die. Was told by supposed best JW friend that she was "too busy" to spend an evening to prevent a suicide. Only thing that worked was that I passed out before I could take sufficient pills to finish it. Glad it didn't work, though.

  no need to reply but i am in need of venting.. let's see where to start?

  oh let's start on sunday afternoon when i am informed that australia is off now.

  the manager who offered me the job spoke out of turn and her boss has told her not to replace the guy who quit.

  is it important to call god by his right name?.

  if so, jehovahs witness should change to jahwes witness.

  it is no doubt among scientist anymore, that jahwe is the right form of gods name.

  There's an interesting(?) thread at Witnet about the 50's family, which has been touching on the issue of feminism.

  Some of the attitudes are unbelievable. Feminism is the cause of all the problems in the world today, feminism has caused more people to become gay, etc. If we could just go back to the way it was in the 50's with moms at home and no rights for women, everything would be just wonderful.

  Sad thing is, a lot of JW women think that this is perfectly okay.

  Goodbye Joe

  probably many of us lurk over at h20.

  i have for a long time but never posted.. no doubt any who have, have read of joe mesko's passing away.. i doubt there was an online personality with so striking of a style and personality on any of the boards.

  his biting sarchasm and every post with an edge to the humour in it made it an interesting and fun read.. although i don't know him, i will miss him.. goodbye joe.. pathofthorns.

  That was really shocking news. I didn't know Joe too well, but we did e-mail several times. He was only in his 40's.

  From what he had told me, he was never a JW, but his first wife was, and the breakup of their marriage was due mainly to the influence of the JW's.

  He was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor.

  Guess who is going to Australia?!?!

  i know this is somewhat off topic but i am so excited.

  i was asked yesterday to become part of the canadian olympic team's marketing group.. they will fly me to sydney, take care of accomodations and other expenses plus pay me a samll amount per day.. i am thrilled, excited and in awe.

  i will have full access to all events, ceremonies etc.

  Hey, Frenchy, if you're looking for topless beaches....try RI. Oops....I forgot, they closed the nude beach because of the Piping Plovers nesting there. The sight of all those naked Italian guys wearing fourteen pounds of gold necklaces were causing the Plovers to cease mating. All these tiny little birds running around trying desperately to cover their eyes, going "gack, gack....arghhhh!"
