Shoot, nope never Vancouver. Been there twice but never stayed long.
Speaking of all these torn families, Has anyone noticed what the special talk after the memorial is entitled? Quite ironic.
i was deleted as the cobe after i let my adult child move back home and he admitted that he fornicated under my roof while my wife and i where away on a rbc project.
of course the elder mode in me kicked him out of the house.. the elders moved quickly to remove me because i was too involved in "theocractic activities", i had neglected my adult son.. i accepted this primarily because i didn't want to serve with a boe that did not want me.
i was devastated however because it was the only life i knew.

Finkelstein, I also know a couple who were publicly reproved because of going to their df'd daughters wedding! (Do I know you? Or maybe this just happens often. Shoot im dying to meet some old friends on here, stupidly always looking for signs that I know some of you!! I guess I just really want some of my old friends again.)
Anyway! I also know an elder who was removed from his position because he conducted the wedding of his 'inactive' daughter and worldly son in law.
... but, they fail to take note of one important detail.. i believe that if we are going to have any chance of reasoning with a jw about blood, this is the place we need to begin.. don't try to convince them that it was only a dietary law.
it wasn't, and they will never go along with it.. don't tell them that saving a life is more important than obeying a law, even a seemingly trivial one.
they take pride in obedience.
Marvin I meant to click 'like' and accidentally clicked unlike but apparently it's stuck that way.
Anyway, excellent post cofty and indeed you are NOT a one trick pony!
it just seems to me religion in general primarily makes truly bad people worse, not genuinly good people better; and in many cases has even made good people do bad things in the name of their religion.
just curious, a personal poll if you will.
what are you guys' current views on religion as a whole?
Thank you cappy! Yes I'm female.
And shoot William, I am not one of the people who say you can't have morals without religion. I disagree very strongly with that.

I'm experiencing the same thing, ff, and not going to argue with you about that. My parents don't want to see their grandchildren either.
Ive just heard a lot of testimonials from people who say they were terrible people before finding Christ. Abusive, violent alcoholic types. I know some of these people personally, and they have turned around.
(1 corinthians 11:23-25) ".......that the lord jesus on the night on which he was going to be betrayed took a loaf, 24 and after giving thanks, he broke it and said: "this means my body, which is in your behalf.
keep doing this in remembrance of me.
" 25 he did the same with the cup also, after they had the evening meal, saying: "this cup means the new covenant by virtue of my blood.
Go this year, but don't give your mom false hope...say you are just doing it for her, just this year. it will be especially crazy for you after having gone to the baptist church. But I bet there will be some people who are sweet to you and give you nice greetings, so just focus on that, and the shared history you have with them.
p.s. And rock that new dress!!

what is the wackiest...strangest....most unusual jw teaching or practice?
is it just me or does anyone else see more newbies joining this site this past year and especially in the last few months .. we would love to welcome you with genuine friendship ,support ,encouragement ,a place to vent ,and not judge you.. you have the freedom to express whatever view you like and you won`t be kicked off the board.. and to learn more about the "truth" about the truth , you will not hear at a kingdom hall .. smiddy.
there are many former witnesses I have contact with, and few visit or post on sites like this. One of them visited for a while but didn't post. I visited a few several years ago but never posted until recently.
I think it's a mental thing, it really does take cajones to register on an apostate site, after all we've been told our lives. I think you can take the number of new posters here and figure the number leaving is exponentially larger.
hey guys, .
i just wanted to thank you all for all of your input, support and help over the past few months.
i've decided to officially disassociate myself from the organization and move on with my life.
