the wt teaches that the anointed started getting resurrected sometime around 1918/1919.
before that everyone was asleep in the grave, including all the apostles.
Oubliette, I don't blame them for this tho. They are usually really, really overwhelmed with their own businesses and families and meetings and committees and writing talks... how can they have time to research the religions ridiculous doctrine in such a way they can prove it to others?
the ones you have to watch out for are the ones who don't have family at home and are unemployed. Way too much time on their hands for poking their noses into other people's business.
having recently had an "awakening" - not from reading awake .... i realize i can not preach doctrines i do not believe anymore .
but i do not want the elders to start following my every move, because i also have plans to check other christian denominations.. so i am thinking, should i chat for an hour or two with an old visit and report the hours, should i tell the elders i have some doubts and i do not want to preach for now or should i just stop reporting and avoid the elders attempts to talk to me?
what do you think is the best sollution to get away with this?
I'm with giordano. Volunteer! Join clubs! For me, a new church brought the most friends tho, and it's not controlling, there is so much open mindedness and freedom of thought and expression it was actually shocking to me. But like you said, research doctrine and see where you stand before choosing one. I think you will be ok. Take a couple more months and either turn in fake time (I never could do that, but do what you can do. It's all meaningless anyway) or do return visits with other people or go on someone's study. Spend spare time researching doctrine and looking into organizations/clubs/classes you are interested in and you will meet friends there! But don't rush it. PM me if you want to talk.
i went to a j.w funeral and saw some people i used to hang out with many years ago and they all seemed to want to tell me if they or any member of their family were elders,m.s's,pioneers ect.. karter..
is there ea list anywhere of the changes that have taken place in last 5 years.
i ask this because in what i consider some form of "hail mary" my elder father who has not spoken to me in a forever tells me he knows that tone of my hangups was the fact that there were a lot of changes.
he said that as far as he knows that there have only been 2............................... i am aware of a number of them but is there a comprehensive list anywhere on the net?.

not a full critique but some points astounded me .

i find it hard to believe that adults on this forum make such a big deal about not celebrating birthdays, x-mas, easter, halloween, etc, etc, etc.
i grew up as a jw kid and it actually made me feel good, being different from the other kids in school.
we went to meetings.

this friend is a partaker, but has serious doubts about the org.
this friend wants to stand up as a man, and wants to call wtbts hq.
Your friend seems a bit delusional. The GB do not sit by phones all day taking questions from witnesses...'anointed' or not. Actually I don't believe they have EVER talked to a witness over the phone to answer a question. That's like saying 'get me Putin on the phone...there are things I would like to change about Russia.'
Your friend will definitely be 'watched' for even attempting this. I admire his courage and his integrity tho.
