I was attempting to make sort of a funny comment, since jw's call themselves the only true christians, and believe that Ray franz is the most evil human possible. But when I read his book I could not believe his lack of vitriol and hatred towards these people who had hurt him. Of them all, he was the true Christian. I was saying I thought he followed Christ, unlike some others that say they do, but don't really.

This reminds me of something:
Anyone remember in the 80's the change in the USA from charging for literature at the door to the new 'donation' arrangement? Many of us KNEW the real reason, because the government was going to start taxing sales made by 'charitable organizations', but the society passed it off as a ' loving new arrangement'. It was, surprise! only in the USA that this change occurred, but it was still a 'loving new arrangement.'
Even those of us who knew, forgave it quickly, as if the society was our spoiled brat child, 'oh, aren't they cute.'

The present Governing Body will rule the U.S.A.
by John Aquila ini havent gone to meetings in about 1 year and a half.
one of my neighbors who is a jw-lady told me that the co on the last visit said that its very likely that right after armageddon (which is just around the corner) the present governing body members will be in charge of the united states since they are familiar with the culture.
and that the apostles and early christians will be in charge of areas like china.

That CO is nuts.
really tho, I wouldn't want to be forever with a bunch of witness men in control of the world. Paradise? No, that would be hell.

I used to contribute $100 a month when I was in. But I swear, if I was still in, and I watched this stuff, I would STOP contributing. -

I don't think he's a troll...look at his past posts. I'm sorry this happened to you kola, I am too wary to send you money halfway around the world, and my husband would never agree to that either way. But I believe you and hope something comes through for you. -

(Not)Preaching advice
by paradisebeauty inhaving recently had an "awakening" - not from reading awake .... i realize i can not preach doctrines i do not believe anymore .
but i do not want the elders to start following my every move, because i also have plans to check other christian denominations.. so i am thinking, should i chat for an hour or two with an old visit and report the hours, should i tell the elders i have some doubts and i do not want to preach for now or should i just stop reporting and avoid the elders attempts to talk to me?
what do you think is the best sollution to get away with this?

is it more likely to be the men or women who leave first?
by sowhatnow ini was just pondering the other day, is it more likely that a man will leave a religion, or a woman?
is there a way to know if the men on the site outnumber the women or vice versa as to who found out ttat first and left.. im going to suggest men.
basically because men in general, do not like to be told what to do.

James, in my case it was myself who left first, and husband followed, and I know I am not the only one here. Look also at Sofia lose and Lisa rose. -

But the men have more to gain by staying in the religion. Upward mobility, prominence, status. We women just get to get walked on. -

It's always been so interesting to me that they are so picky about recording prayers, oh they are soooo sacred!.....when their prayers are obviously not talking to God, but talking to people....reviewing points they want people to remember from their talks, or showing off how well they were listening to the meeting, as if God needs to be reminded what was talked about.
