'Anointeds' Do you know any and if so what are they like ?

would like to hear about any experiences anyone has had with the so called ' anointed ' .

Hardtobeme, I'm right there with you, in all aspects. It's something I never take for granted. I partake monthly at church and even administered communion at a senior care home last Sunday.

I haven't known many witness partakers. One sister from another hall came to our hall for the memorial--because she was about 40 and considered too young to be anointed and the brothers in her hall pressured her to stop, but she didn't believe she should. The p.o. in our hall told the ushers to not count her as partaking. She was really nice tho and I don't think she was crazy.

One thing my new church does that I don't agree with is that it offers infant baptism if parents request it. But heck, at least if the kid changes their mind someday, or never takes to it, they aren't going to lose their frickin family!!

How many of you went to your Class Reunion when you were a JW??

i have a 50 year reunion coming up and.

i am looking forward to it.. they all know i was a jw, it should be interesting.. i figure we won't have many more (reunions) so i must attend, the last round up..

The Divine Name in the NT: Some Reflections

i've been fascinated with this topic for some time now, almost to the point of obsession.

after researching the issue for several years, i have come to a conclusion/theory that i would love to receive some feedback on.

this theory of mine is one that will be somewhat unsettling to both those who believe the divine name was used in the original nt scripts as well as those who believe it wasn't.

i have studied all of these NT scriptures using the Kingdom Interlinear. It's obvious the witnesses had a very defined agenda when they 'translated' for their Bible.

I need to find a list of all uses of Jehovah in the NWT NT, and for that matter I need to find my old copy of the NWT! Also I never got one of the new 'silver swords.'

Yeah I think the 10 year and 20 year is all about status and showing off your achievements, and then by the 40th, people just want to dance and have fun. I've heard that from an older relative, anyway. Dance your socks off james!

There's a reason you aren't allowed to vote until you're into your teens. You can not even think abstractly until you are at least 12.

Re: the snowman, that was cunning. I always felt guilty about making snow angels...as silly as that was. Now kids get to feel guilty about making snowmen instead of more service time! Great.

I am glad you have some help now from one of your professors. I hope it comes through for you. The Nigerian thing has just become a huge punchline to jokes...but we have to remember it also seems like racism toward that particular country to judge every Nigerian as a scammer. However Kola, the classiest thing was probably not asking for funds here from people who don't know you. I know you felt desperate when you did it. You have worked so hard to get where you are, and then you lost much of that work recently which sets you back a few frustrating steps in your life plan. I am sorry we were collectively mean. Please continue to post here and tell us how you are doing.

i know there are many posts discussing the may money requesting televangalism...er... broadcast i mean!

but i wanted to start one where anyone can put what they have heard any non-exjw, non-apostate witnesses say good or bad about the broadcast.

i don't see how it can't rattle followers... but then again i might be surprised how they can twist things (2+2=5).

I know what would help them: if they start putting on the information board how much money they have received from each family. The pressure to prove their 'spirituality' and loyalty to the org would be on.
