What a cheap way to score some sympathy from witnesses. When I left, (and it was a fade) a relative in my family wrote PM's to my Facebook friends, informing them i was no longer a witness and they should unfriend me. That was classy too, but your sister outdid it :P.

Out on Facebook
by disillusioned 2 ini am just venting because my sister has put on facebook that i am no longer "in the truth"!
i have kept a very low profile for years and have silently faded.
many witnesses i have bumped into are very friendly towards me, some from other congregations may not even be aware that i dont go anymore.

Birds are cool and all, but the wife is the more flattering shoulder accessory, IMO. -

Newspaper article: Why JWs Don't Celebrate Easter
by Sugar Shane insaw this article in the google news.
it seems like the comments section is being overrun by jw apologists.
would be nice if some of us leveled the playing field.

It's strange but true. Witnesses stop at the death, celebrate the memorial (which you really can't call a celebration), and then never go on to the resurrection. Year after year after year. Just the death. My first Easter at regular church I realized what they were missing. It wasn't a pagan celebration and to call it that is ridiculous. What kind of morose religion celebrates just the death when he who has died has risen?? -

The Judge
by New day ingenuine question here.
a lot has been said on this site about how judge rutherford responded to events in his day by 'revealing' the great crowd of earthly subjects of the kingdom.
it was always portrayed to me as a reaction from the ground up of those who didn't want to go to heaven.

Didn't they foresee that their movement would grow past 144,000 members, so they had to change doctrine?
By the way, many mainstream Christian churches believe that someday, after first residing in heaven after death, people will reside on earth, when earth is made new and the tent of God will be with his people. But witnesses are the only ones who take 144K literally and believe in two different hopes. (The one faith one Lord one hope thing I guess fell on deaf ears that time).

An exJW friend gave me my first chocolate easter bunny ever. ExJW friends are the best kind. They know and understand. And they give you stuff you never got when you were a kid but always kinda missed. I give Easter baskets to my kids and chocolate bunnies but no one ever gave me one before. And it's Ghirardelli. -

I'm not worried about Armageddon. But as Jesus said, maybe Pharisaical legalistic unmerciful religious leaders should be. -

out for a long time
by Sledracer inmy husband and i have been out for a long time, maybe fifteen years, i must say we are in a bit of a nowhere land spiritually, we find it impossible to attend any other church.
we really resent so much of how they messed up our and our children's lives.
we can't get back all those 25 years we were in.

Why is it impossible for you to attend another church? Is it doctrine? Dig deep. Research. It sounds like you need a community to worship with. Witness singing is more like mumbles. Regular churches do it way, way better. And they read whole sections of the bible at a time, then analyze it. No more hopping all over the bible to prove strange things. -

Questions About Jehovahs Witness
by JehovahsWitnessResearcher inhi, i am doing a research project on jehovahs witness and wanted to understand it better from people who practice the religion.
i have a few questions and it would really help out if you could answer as soon as possible.. .
what are your main beliefs?.
-

We are mostly exwitnesses here and no longer believe in the religion, which most of us now view is a cult. You can find some other sites with active believers and this can be a win win for both of you, since they will get to count their time in answering your questions.
