" Worse things happen at sea " My wife`s recent experience.
by smiddy inmy wife just recently got back from the "cruise ship" from dave`y jones locker ,( hell) i`m not sure if it made news anywhere else in the world but it sure did here in australia.wife and her sister were on the" carnival spirit" 12 night cruise to the south pacific islands .2nd day out they had to try to skirt a cyclone , yet were still buffeted by strong winds and heavy seas .my wife suffers from parkinsons and takes medication for it , and has always been a bit of a panic merchant ,that`s just her nature coming home ,they encountered a catergory 2 cyclone that prevented them entering sydney harbour due to the rough seas .
7 to 9 metre waves were the norm , with a few 15 metre waves thrown in.this lasted more than 48 hours , causing them to stay another night out at sea ,and missing their flight back to melbourne.my wife did not cope very well at all with this experience probably due to her anxiety fear of water medication and some alcohol , plus the strong sedatives she was given { which she needed to cope } took a toll on her mentally .i was worried sick about her.
initially their were some issues with her sister that did not help matters either , though she did come good in the end.. thankfully , since the medications she was given has worn off , she is slowly coming back to normal , however i think it`s going to take a few weeks .. not being a medic , i think she had the closest thing to a nervous breakdown .. and to put things in perspective , she was not the only one who thought they were going to die.many people on board were scared out of their wits.. i just thought i would share what we went through this past week as a family .. smiddy.

by stillin inthe "boasting session" last night included forcing the congregation to watch that stupid witnessing cart video.
then the brother handling the part discusses what a "powerful witness" is being given each time those carts roll out into public view.. experiences: had a nice conversation with a young man.

I saw witnesses by a trolley today. Way in the corner of the train station, no one was going to go over there. They just stood around talking. Which is what I always see when I see the trolley. I'm convinced the already rampant witness gossip is enjoying exponential growth due to this trolley thing. If the witness population isn't actually growing in developed countries...at least the gossip is thriving! -

Good point, LHS. Jesus cured many on the sabbath, even tho the Pharisees said 'but it's against the RULES!!!' what was more important than the rules? Healing people. Wake up, witnesses!!! -

"I just don't like being lied to"
by stuckinarut2 inso i dropped this comment to someone from "my" congregation...... "i just don't like being lied to".... this was in response to their attempt to become my 'bff' (i'm sarcastically using the expression 'best friends forever' here).
i ran into them in the street.
they started chatting all about the cong gossip, teachings, upcoming witness events etc.... i was just quiet and not really contributing to the conversation.. when she asked "so what's new with you?

Well she'll definitely be gossiping about you! She's got a juicy story to tell. First person! It's hard to say if you will hear anything back about it. I don't know how long it's been since you have been to meetings etc. the longer away, the better, for this just disappearing. -

Sir82, How about the scripture where Jesus says to the crucified criminal on his right 'truly I tell you today, you will be with me in paradise.' The comma is added by the nwt of course. It should be 'I say to you truly, today you will be with me in paradise.' This strikes me as humorous, because they are both DYING when Jesus is speaking. why would jesus say 'I tell you today' if the guy was dying that day?? What other day was he going to say it?? It clearly means that paradise is in heaven, and the man would be joining jesus there that day.
also, 'you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church.' The notion that he was pointing to himself but that was somehow omitted from scripture is just embarrassing.
How about Thomas' 'my lord and my God!' Same thing. As if the scriptures were implying he was talking to jesus when he said my lord, but looking to the heavens when he said my God.
Simple scriptures, totally screwed with in jw doctrine.

They want to meet with you so they can console these parents who complained, and say they 'handled it.' Everything is for appearances, after all. If you meet with them, I would be just very humble and say you are so sorry, you didn't mean to do anything but express your own opinions about college, and there have been so many changes about education, you weren't sure what to say to these kids beyond what you truly felt. (Lol)
