New "most frustratingly addictive game ever" to play - agar.io
by Simon inone of my kids got me hooked on this.
it's incredibly simple but also kind of fun and addictive.. you start as a small cell and need to eat things to grow.
that's pretty much the game.. of course as you get bigger you can eat smaller cells too ... and bigger ones can eat you.. as you get bigger you get slower but you can "eject mass" to shrink and speed you up (w key).

I hate that game, I hate getting devoured. For me it was too frustrating. Right now I'm addicted to Two Dots. -

Saturday Let the Games Begin
by Poztate inthe start of a new memorial season is upon us.
saturday is the day for the start of the invites to look but not touch the bread and wine.
the "observer class" is a belief unique to jehovah's witnesses.. along with the invite to the masses a special effort is being made this year by the elders to invite all the df's, da's and faders.. along with the invite a copy of the rtj will be left with them.. naturally we will still be treated as pariah's if we do attend but it is the thought that counts.. i am of the "fader class" as i don't wish to rock the boat with my wife and extended family.

Got invited last year. It was miserable. Lovely sisters I used to know knocked at my front door. I hid. Then they knocked at my back door! I still hid. My husband had our dead Christmas tree he had been meaning to mulch for MONTHS out there. It was so obviously a Christmas tree! And there they were. And, I had to go to work, desperately, right THEN, or I would be late. I waited. One minute. Two minutes. Maybe they were gone? I ran out the door, and ran into them just as they started knocking on my GARAGE Door. Seriously?? Very awkward moment. I told them I had to go to work and thanked them for the memorial invitation. I tried to block the Christmas tree from their vision with my body, even tho it was of course too late. The sister left her contact info on a post it note. I later emailed her and told her thank you but I've moved on.
And I get to look forward to this again this year??? At least my husband has already mulched the Christmas tree this time :\. -

Unbelievable after all that's happened to you, they would get picky about you growing facial hair...but that's the way it is, in the weird world of WT. -

NWT...how accurate?
by Theburstbubble ini'm sorry if i'm covering old ground here.
but is the nwt bible a credible translation of the scriptures?

You are not alone. There are so many who come here, going through similar experiences to yours. You are a very good man, showing sympathy towards your wife in her despair. I hope she has the same sympathy towards you in your gradual exit from the cult. She is really messed up by it and I hope she will realize the effects of the cult on herself and grow out of it as well. Come here to vent any time. You are welcome here. -

What Londo said. They have massaged every single scripture suggesting the deity of Christ. Do some research, type in 'scriptures proving the deity of christ' and compare how NWT translates them compared to other translations, and use the kingdom interlinear. There was a concerted EFFORT to downgrade Jesus, and when I realized that, I lost all respect for them. Also, research what all the 'J' citings in the new testament were. In the beginning of the interlinear it says what the sources were. Research them. They put them there as if there is a good excuse to use the name Jehovah in the NT. They are nonsense. 238 times, if I recall correctly.. -

I go to church every Sunday and then some, and hold a title at church and am in charge of one of the ministries. I read the bible every day and it's not the NWT.
I organize fundraisers for various nonprofit organizations.
I often volunteer, giving real help for real life situations.
I vote every chance I get. I sing the national anthem. I have a shirt with a flag on it that says 'Live Free.' Actually, 'Live free or die' is one of my favorite quotes. I go to city meetings and forums to research who to elect as local representatives.
I contribute to causes I believe in.
I celebrate holidays. On December 26 I say '364 days till Christmas!!'
I tried a cigarette once. I knew it would be the only one I would ever smoke, but I wanted to see what it felt like. It felt good, and now I'm not quite so judgmental of smokers, however I do try to get them to stop because smoking kills people. I tried a cigar once at a wedding. I liked the cigarette better. Ive never told anyone about the cigarette before.
I barely drink and don't need to. I'm perfectly capable of having a great time and\or acting\saying something stupid without it.
I swear rarely but sometimes.
I will watch an R rated movie if it's not exploitative. I tend to stick to PG13 stuff tho. Occult stuff and horror freaks me out so I avoid it. I like sleeping and it's just not worth it to lose sleep over!
I support gay marriage.
I believe in evolution as part of creation.
I will occasionally bare slightly more cleavage than I used to, especially if on a date with my husband. I will occasionally wear a dress that shows my knees!
I spend Saturday mornings lazy in bed whenever I can. -

Jehovah's Witnesses the richest religion in the world..
by wwjdnwt ini don't post here too much..i am more of a lurker.
but, wanted to share recent conversation with jw family member.. one of my jw relatives recently went to visit another jw relative that is "serving where the need is great",.
when my jw relative returned home and i was talking with him, who is an older jw who has been in for over 50 years, was so excited to tell me about the special talk.

JWs don't fall anywhere in there. They are so grandiose in their own eyes, but are just wannabes. They think they're so significant, so important...they are barely a blip on the world scene. -

You would think they would be embarrassed
by stillin into tout the fact that jesus christ is the head of the congregation is fine... if he was.
a quick glance at the page in the back of the current study wt seems to say otherwise.
if you recall, they print up a page at the end of every year with a quick rundown of the articles for the previous year.. surprise!

When I started waking up, I would read the Bible during meetings. In the new testament Jesus has equal or more representation with the father. I would read Jesus, Father, Jesus, Christ, our Lord, Jesus, God, Jesus...and then listen for a while and never hear Jesus. First doctrinal realization for me that something was definitely not right! Edit: I'm remembering now that an elder I mentioned this to told me that the society was trying to get people to mention Jesus more, and you will see him in the literature but people don't catch on in their talks and comments. I remember thinking, it's too stinking late, they have neglected him too long, no way can they be real christians. But your observation, still in, about last year's articles prove that they actually haven't changed at all, not even in their publications. -

Taking random scriptures out of context to prove their doctrine seems to be unique to JW's. I'm sure other cults do it too. It was interesting to me, when I first started attending another church, that the sermon would comprise of reading a whole chunk of the bible and then making application of it. No wonder most religious people aren't as good as witnesses at flipping all over the bible.
