  Confused: What does the overlapping generation really mean?

  can someone help me understand how the wt came up with the overlapping generation theory?

  i just don't understand it even though i read the information several times.

  Russell had made other predictions of Christ's coming before 1914. The only reason they clung to 1914 was the coincidental occurance of WWI. They changed their prediction tho and said 'actually, his presence is invisible...but he's here! Believe us!!' So since that time, they've been buying time with different variations on the generation teaching. Desperately looking for ways to string people along and keep that carrot on the stick just out of reach.

  They've been successful for 102 years now!! Which is quite a feat when you think about it. Those are some pretty legit manipulation skills.

  Your suggestions are really great, I know because it's what happened between me and my husband (I woke up first in our case).

  Another family saved from the cult!! It's fantastic.

  I still believe in God as well.Take your time working out your beliefs, and do lots of research.

  New Light - Two Sticks in Ezekiel - July 2016 Watchtower

  ezekiel 37:15-17 prophesies about two sticks being joined together to become 1. one stick represented the two tribe kingdom of judah and the other stick represented the 10 tribe of israel (ephraim).

  the article explains how the coming together of these two sticks meant the reuniting of these tribes in 537 bce.the modern day fulfillment was previously taught to mean that the anointed had once again come together in unity in these last days.the july watchtower now explains that one stick, the stick of judah, represents the anointed and the other stick, the stick of ephraim, represents the other sheep.

  they further explain that since 1919 god's people have gradually reunited to become one flock.they are now saying that the other sheep are represented by 10 tribes of israel.

  Americans aren't allowed to grow their own food?

  i was recently told by an american i was chatting to online that in the usa people are not allowed to grow their own food.

  she said that if you have a vegetable patch or something that the government will come along and bulldoze it?

  she said that farmers are not allowed to grow food either and that the government bulldozes the crops if they grow?.

  Yes there are some neighborhoods like that in America...they wouldn't come bulldoze it probably, but there are rules...lots of rules...about what is and isn't acceptable. I would never live anywhere where theres a homeowner's association!! Someone telling you what your front yard should be like, what color your curtains should be...had enough of that stupid stuff growing up witness :P.

  Tikis right, there's generally a movement in America to have your own organic vegetable garden, raise chickens, have a beehive etc. That stuff also brings simple pleasures and personal satisfaction. I think it truly is the simple things in life that make us happy.

  The org says there is only evil outside of the org. They say no one can truly love you unless they also love Jehovah. I took the red pill and realized that these are lies! Blatant lies. That is not a harsh reality, that is an optimistic and wonderful reality. There is real good and real love outside of the org.

  Dystopia you were deleted from this site because you offended people who have been personally hurt and abused by the watchtower organization. They come here for support when they have nowhere else to go. There is no place here for people who say 'actually your complaints are completely unfounded, witness policies work fine!' The people who have been hurt know better.

  But why would you want this thread deleted? It wouldn't be because the responses you have gotten show how legitimate our feelings toward the organization are, would it?

  I'm still interested in why you would come to this site and name yourself dystopia.Its not just a coincidence. I feel like you are almost one of us. Maybe in denial half the time of your own doubts.

  We have all been there and know what that's like. It's a hard time.

  I agree 100 percent with njws.

  Also, if witnesses didn't have so much hatred towards other people and wish for the eternal destruction of most of humanity, they would be easier to like! Their own intolerance makes them 'hateable.' Even so, my ire is with those at the very top, mainly. Truly and dearly love MANY witnesses I've known, and I always will.

  Didn't go to memorial this year

  my wife and i had business to attend to out of town today and i had thought if we made it back home in time, we'd go to the memorial.

  as it turned out, we didn't get home in time and we missed it, but we had a real good talk with each other on the way home.

  we are largely successful faders and at the very least, i like to try and make the memorial.

  Silent, re-examine those doctrines. Look at outside info. By their fruits you will know them...and they have shown that they are not true disciples. Start over. Pray for direction.

  i think how much emphasis this puts on "loyalty" shows their is an issue.
