sisters wearing pants/trousers?

my sister-in-law has recently gone back to the org :-(.

she has been wearing trousers (pants to us members ) now she has been told to expect a shepherding call from one of the elders about her style of dress!.

has anyone any good ideas or even scriptural comments that she could use.. .

Has anyone any good ideas or even scriptural comments that she could use.

To me, wearing trousers is nowhere as serious as supporting the UN for nearly 10 years, not to mention all of the failed prophecies.

She didn't believe me when I told her about the UN scandal, she thought that there must have been a good explanation.

I feel very sorry for her as she is basically a very kind person, just very lonely and I think that's the reason she went back.

Witnesses "Policing" People...Is It True?

my sister told me once she likes to "police" people, that it was sort of a game she liked to play.

she is true to her word, she does just that.

always seeking the negative, rarely acknowledging positive...anything.. is this common among witnesses?

My husband (Kaytee) has just asked me if I had posted a reply on the WT policing thread (Re: Mary hospital receptionist) I was confused at first and thought that I had been "sleep walking and posting on JWD", until I realised that we have both chosen the same name !

You are Twinkle toes and I am Twinkletoes - it's very confusing for other posters, but at least I think we are both on the same side of the fence where JWs are concerned.

The WT article that you posted was very interesting - isn't it awful how they can manipulate the scriptures to control the rank and file.

Kaytee & Twink's "Resignation" letter

this was the second letter given to elders that turned out to be a "resignation" letter.

this was, as you will see, because they chose not to answer any of our questions.

the reason we are posting our letter, is because it is now obvious (by personal experiences) that ones who we thought were our friends are now choosing to shun us.

Good morning Reniaa, of should I say Becky!

You amaze me, you answered our post within 3 minutes, there is no way that you could have read a 7 page letter within that time.

Some-one said that you are an "amazing mother" and I'm beginning to believe them. How on earth could you manage to sit down at your computer at 9.30 am on a Sunday morning with three young children around you and possibly be getting yourself and them also ready to go to the meeting. Are you still in the Hull congregation?

I Talked to My Mom Today...

during a discussion about informing everyone about my uncle's sudden passing.

i said to her, "being that joe died so suddenly and is younger than you, are you sure you want to keep shunning me?".

her answer was, of course, to "come back to jehovah".

I'm sorry for you - it's very hurtful.

What amazes me is that the JWs believe that they have the monopoly on Jehovah and that no-one else every calls God by that name. When I left the cult, I was amazed at how many religions use the name Jehovah.

as mentioned in my very first port here, i will now give my story and some thoughts i have so far.. i ve been lurking here for about a month, before i registered.

well, a few months ago something like that would be unthinkable for me.. i was raised as a jw, and serve currently as an elder in a congregation.

i have family, also jws.

You will find lots of help here, many have or are going through similar situations.

The initial trigger for me was finding out about the WT's 9 years secret affliation with the UN as an NGO - I just couldn't believe they could be so hypocritical. So after 32 years in the JWs i decided that I could no longer be any part of them. Of course the shunning followed, but I'm glad that I'm out.

So glad that you are here and I look forward to hearing more from you.

I think I understand... I am being shunned...

i think i finally realize whats been happening... as i said earlier, i almost took the plunge knee-deep into becoming a jw... i had many confrontations with my wife and others in my family, but i still continued to push forward.... .

itd been almost 2 years since i first was indoctrinated and 1.5 years since i have been studying... i studied with a friend who was also a co-worker.

we studied before or after work because it was convenient for us both.. .

Think yourself very lucky that you have managed to escape their clutches.

As with many others, I can testify that after being in the Organisation for over 30 years, I am now being shunned by ones who I thought were friends and also my own brother (a JW Elder)

and all we (me and husband) did was to ask questions (UN - WT Involvement etc)

What Has Hurt You Most About Being A Witness?

for me, it's not having a "normal" childhood.

being raised a jw will make you miss out on ordainary kid things.

you can't have any friends except witnesses---and only jws that measure up.

Being so gullible when I was first contacted by them. Then almost losing 2 of my 3 sons to the "Blood Policy". (I have rhesus negative blood which was not compatible with the 2nd and 3rd son), and of course all of the family upset that "my stand" caused.

Now, it's the rift that's come between myself and my own brother (a typical Elder) - who considers me to be an apostate.

If only I could turn back the clock!
