Lurkers and JW apologists: Please read this experience and consider.

it was on another thread (jwfacts' one about his jc meeting) that i posted a personal experience and it occurred to me, that although it is well behind me and i don't dwell on it (much!

), it may be of some help to those who visit here and are unsure what they think about their jw beliefs.. i wrote:.

We certainly agree with your comments "Evil Bastards" . In the last year of our 30 yr "sentence" in the Org. we heard what we thought was a joke and it went like this

What's the difference between an Elder and a Terrorist - the answer - You can reason with a terrorist!!!!. We now realise that it wasn't a joke.

I can't help but thinking that Matt 7 v 21 seems to typify the conduct of these so-called christians. If anyone may have doubts as to the validity of the JWs they would do well to read the early history of that Organisation. After-all, every building without a good foundation would soon start to show cracks. It's interesting to read about the period when Russell founded the Org.

ita funny last night i looked through some awakes from 1991 through 2001.and i saw a lot of refrences saying the un is the beast from revaltion there is also a article about the pope visiting the un.you should all read it its the 1996 awake7/8 funny thing is why would some one who is surporting the un say these things about them.ovesly some people ar cluthing at straws

Good for you Sandy - they are running true to form! They were associated for almost ten years, isn't it amazing how their team of highly paid lawyers didn't alert them to the obvious hypocrisy.

After being in the Org. for over thirty years we came to realise that they are nothing more than a mind controlling cult and full of lies.

Please take a look at our resignation letter - it took us (husband and I ) ages to get together, with a lot of help from ones on this board too.

You may get a head start with some of the research that we had to do. please don't expect a reply from the witnesses, its very unlikely that they will get back to you.

I feel so sorry for this person, but unfortunately this is nothing new. Here in Hereford UK, we had the same problem with the KH. The congregation bought this property and refurbished it from "scratch", they chose to have the main hall upstairs, and although they promised that they would provide access for disabled ones, they never did (OVER 11 YEARS TO DO THIS). We personally knew of ones that were unable to climb the stairs and had to sit in the foyer downstairs watching the service on as black and white TV. Usually sitting alone, as the presiding overseer was not happy about others sitting in the foyer. This room - was a open access to the toilets and door to the outside, therefore in the winter time it was extremely cold and uncomfortable for the disabled (some in wheelchairs). Some of us set-up a fund for a "Chair-lift" but in their (Elders) wisdom, and I believe also against charity laws (re:Restricted Funds rules), they chose to rename the fund to a "special needs fund" thereby turning what should have been a restricted fund for a wheelchair into a general fund to spend where ever they decided.

As you have so rightly pointed out, it wouldn't take much effort to build a ramp for the disabled lady at her home, especially if this would enable her to get to meetings, surely this is what christianity is all about. I can't imagine Jesus ignoring her plight.

One good thing may come out of her not being able to get to meetings - especially as it appears she uses a computer, perhaps she could look at this forum and find out for herself just what a mind-controlling cult they really are.

i want you to know that you have destroyed a family because of your lies about jehovah and his organization.

a family member went apostate and has turned his back on jehovah.

he told us he is never coming back and i know he went and visited internet sites.

I do hope that you will come back to read all of the comments.

We (husband and I) were in the Organisation for over thirty years, we did not leave because we became apostates, but because we could no longer be part of an organisation that claimed to represent God yet at the same time SECRETLY were affiliated as an NGO with the United Nations for almost 10 years. We could not allow ourselves to go along with such hypocrisy.

I'm not sure of your reasons for stopping going to the KH, but if like many of us, the UN Scandal was the main issue, then perhaps you could write to your brother and ask him to explain to you why it was OK for the Org to (hypocritically) be affiliated with the UN for almost 10 years, yet at the same time preach differently about the UN? You could ask for answers to some of your questions, saying that you wish to get things clear in your own mind before explaining such things to your own children.

PS. My brother is still in the JWs, eventhough I sent him copies of the letter from the UN confirming the WT affiliation etc. Sad isn't it.

well, i can brave most things but i've yet to find an answer to those "i've got a mind of my own" supermarket trolleys!

talk about ambidextrous - those wheels can go in opposite directions at the same time!.

of course, all that will change in the "new system"tm.
