for the first time in a year i set foot on a kh.
the memorial to me is still somewhat sacred so i decided to attend.
i thought i would feel different, in the sense that maybe i would miss meetings, but i was wrong.
No - we didn't go, and haven't been for over four years.
I can honestly say that in all the years (32) of being a JW, I always felt that there was definately a lack of spirituality during the memorial. After reading the above posts, it looks like things have not changed. We (KT and myself) always came away from the Memorial, feeling very empty. There never seemed to be any discussion about Jesus Christ and the importance of his life and death.

the first time i missed the memorial, i was sick and couldn't go, and felt guilty because that meeting was so important.. then another year, i missed again, this time i wasn't sick.
i still felt guilty, because i still believed in the religion to a certain extent.
i didn't go because i didn't want to go back to the meetings, and feel trapped once more.. maybe some feel guilty that they aren't doing anything for the memorial or easter, depending which religion you think is right, because after all jesus did say to remember him..

It never was close to a spiritual experience. Always so cut and dried.

i'm no longer alone after 17 years; now i have someone to talk to and his experiences are alot like mine.
to think, he refused to talk to me for over 17 years!

it's around 11am and there's a knock on the door.
one of the kids goes to the door and the person there asks for my wife.
she's still in her pj's so i go in her place to find two older ladies.
Well done Kwin, that was interesting. I hope that they will come back - perhaps you can help them to get out of the cult themselves. I wish some JWs would call on us, I would love to show them our letter from the UN, confirming the WT NGO affiliation! I suspect that many witnesses are not aware of this hypocrisy.

yes, it has finally happened!
after years of being on recipient lists, she finally got the call on saturday evening that a liver was waiting for her.
of course we packed and drove the 5 hours to the medical center that would perform the operation.
Thank you for posting that for us all. Its wonderful news.
