That is old light Pete? Now they are encouraged to reach out to Trekkies who have left and ask them to come back. And if old Trekkies do come back to a meeting they are encouraged to go say how pleased you are that they are back.

Trekkies who no longer have an interest in Star Trek May like the old ways better. This new Star Trek is unrecognisable to what got them interested in the first place.

But they have some nice memories and many good friends who are Trekkies so they pretend to go along with it just for the social aspect

i am sure we were all shocked at the governing body update #2 with the unusual and impulsive changes set forth.. i am an insider at whq, and when i was on reddit and in communication with avoidjw i explained to the best of my ability that the approach on disfellowshipping was going to change based on the new light at the 2023 agm, that the jubilee rumor was false, and there were going to be changes on how jws approached disfellowshipping in response to the norway situation if it didn't turn out in watchtower's favor.

the decision came because of a legal blow to watchtower, not because "holy spirit" wad directing a faithful slave, who is going to become the "evil slave", more explanation on this soon.. everything i stated came true.

i left reddit exjw community due to the immature and mentally unstable nature there, and yet as has been the case my words came true.

It sounds far fetched about being more permissive to sex things but actually we are almost there already.

Teenagers who go a bit too far may be a common thing and two elders will just ask the parents have you got it in hand? If they say yes then there is no judicial committee.

it’s getting that way for adults too. This is the most common reason for DFed and now there will be less JCs

Even in the Trekkie world there are some who are no longer strong in the faith. They are just not as interested as they used to be. So I hear.

The real zealot Trekkies don’t give them are a hard time or shun them, or give them special encouragement to return to Star Trek 🤣

but JWs can now be the same as a Trekkie who has lost interest in what brought them together in the first place.

many JWs stay on as JWlite just for family and friends social club. There is nothing wrong with this.

In fact most religions have majority of members in the light category and JWs are slowly turning into the same

The consequences are losing the government benefits

plus there have been other court cases where they lie about shunning and say it’s only spiritual things we don’t talk about but there is no shunning going on at all

but we have been conditioned into thinking it’s ok to lie for Jehovah. If they don’t deserve the truth in court of something then it’s ok to tell lies for Jehovah

New light on shunning?

one theory why tony was booted out was because he was a stickler for not changing the shunning doctrine.

he actually said the words we will never ever change it.. they are slowly deleting all of tony’s videos and now losing court cases and losing government hand outs in places like norway.. it’s looking very likely they will release new light on shunning policy after losing this latest one in norway.. .

what are the odds they coincidentally get new light from jehovah and lighten up their shunning policy ?.

In addition to what Tonus stated, back in the 1970's there was a period of time when the shunning was relaxed towards DF who were not continuing to practice sin and not opposers to the WT, such as someone attending with the intent to be reinstated.

I have heard older ones talk about this change. It would not be surprising if they flip flopped back again into a modern equivalent of the old light.

yes I can easily see an updated understanding of only having to shun those who are really bad and no need to shun those who are good people who just don’t believe anymore?

but who gets to decide which category each individual fits in? If they leave it upto JWs then some loved ones will have exceptions

As I understand things, the American HQ does not support financially countries once the work is 'established'. As a result if Norway ends up in the red, its will be allowed to die on the vine. And in the end we would expect the Norwegian Brothers to see more halls going up for sale and congregation mergers. But I do feel that there is a little more time before we see this happening, as the local Branch could start encouraging publisher 'donations' more ... or put higher levies on the assembly halls, to make up the difference.

Maybe they would try to move donations from Norway to another country so as to avoid paying tax on them.

They did lose charity status in France a few decades ago. They had to start paying fair 40% tax on all donations.

they sneakily moved everything to the UK and even tried to illegally move donations to the UK
