Staying in physically for all the benefits
by Indoubtbigtime ini wonder how many are like me staying pimo for the great association and gathering etc.
also find it very interesting having a front row seat watching the collapse of borg.. im not wasting any more time or money on anything i don’t want to do like preaching and mostly just go on zoom .
there is nothing i want to do that would be considered disfellowshiping sin, i’m married and want to live by bible principles but i have serious doubts that the gb were chosen by god and are his one and only spokesmen on earth.

“But if that is that case, then modern day Witnesses should speak fondly of the people who become Catholics between the years of 4th and 14th century, as that organization was clearly used by God to preserve the Bible.”
Yes I have heard it said that Tindale and others who helped preserve the Bible were part of the 144k

If I left altogether POMO then I would feel I miss so many people who I have known all my life. Some I know very well and some I know a little but want to keep in touch over the years.
Its having that thing in common even if I think the GB are wrong about lots of things, It’s having that thing in common that is why JWs all have such good close friends.
All through history and all around the world there were groups of friends that shared an ideology or common interest that brought them together and made them closer than if they didn’t have that thing.
even if that thing was fictional (Star Trek for example) or the belief of something that wasn’t quite true but that doesn’t matter. As long as you are open to the fact that it may be not true but that doesn’t matter just get the benefits now.
The advantage of keeping one foot in and one foot out is that when you make decisions you can think clearly and not with a JW lense that the end is just around the corner.
I look at life with a lense that I am responsible for my life. I don’t know the truth about the Bible but I like studying it and it does benefit myself and my family. Going to meetings really does benefit my family and we have such good friends. It’s better than going to other places that cost a lot of money, and we have such good associations real friends.
I’m agnostic if there is a god or not but regardless the Bible is so interesting to study and talk about together as a congregation how it can benefit us all.
I personally love the Bibles advice about how to be happy and if it’s Gods word or man’s doesn’t matter.
So I’m keeping one foot in and one foot out. Best of both worlds.

There has been a huge change in the latest elders book that if someone says that going to a JD would make them feel suicidal then it won’t happen. They may be marked and talks given but from now on there will be hardly any disfellowshipping or shunning done. As long as everyone knows about this loophole.
So why not have one foot in for the association and one foot out so that you on your deathbed don’t feel you wasted your life believing some o that wasn’t true?

Only baptised JWs will make it?
by ExBethelitenowPIMA ini think it was a john cedars video or someone else’s where the point was brought up that only baptised jws will be saved?
then one talk about kids of baptised jws hope they will make it but even them don’t know.
most jws probably think that some good people who are not baptised may make it through, but this is not official teaching?.

“It is not enough simply to believe the Bible truths you have been taught, ”
So they are saying you absolutely have to be baptised JW and everyone else will be slaughtered

Yes there have been videos saying that only baptism will save you.
Im sure Lloyd Evans did one video saying “in case a JW says no, some good people who are not baptised JWs will also not be slaughtered,” then he went on to show something in the publication’s.,,,.. but I can’t find it now

What this means is that any further legal threats from Jabba the hut will have zero weight behind them even if he would have previously had been in with a chance

“Only baptized Witnesses (in good congregational standing and without secrete sins) and their personal unbaptized very minor children with survive Armageddon.”
I remember Lloyd Evans talking about this but can’t find the video.
I wonder if you ask most witnesses will any unbaptised people survive Armageddon what will most say?
I think the top dogs are worried about the new trend of young ones and interest ones not getting baptised. I mean if you still get saved then why not delay baptism and not have such serious repercussions if you are found doing something the elders don’t like.
Tjere has been a change recently that you need to be baptised to do microphones or platform or actually any job in the hall. When I was young I did all those things before baptism but now the organised book says you have to be baptised.
this is probably a desperate attempt to reverse the trend of young ones delaying baptism but it has backfired and now there is such a shortage of baptised brothers that sisters are doing mics and platform when there are unbaptised young men in the audience.
The order is first option baptised brothers, if there is not enough of them then baptised sisters and if not enough of them then you can use unbaptised brothers or sisters for ‘privileges ’

I think most JWs think that there will be some non baptised people for whatever reason will survive Armageddon.
But the official teaching is you have to be baptised or children of baptised parents.
I hope someone here can find a link to what the actual official teaching is?
