  ok with the continuning political debate there is only one question remaining...peanut butter or jelly ( no not both) sandwichs.... for me peanut butter with honey...and bananas....

  I agree whole heartedly. It is sad what some of these dictatator or any way you care to classify the ruling powers let their people suffer, but there isn't anything anybody can do.Why not leave it in Jehovah's hand. lol Of course that will a million less he will have to destroy at Armageddon.

  We better take up a collection for the brothers there. Just drop those donations in the world wide work collection box. It's right back there on the wall.THe faithful slave will allocate it to the proper building fund.

  In some areas it may be the only solution until the infrastructure is rebuilt allowing access to all areas.

  The infrastructure will never be repaired as long as their government officials continue to rip off the supplies.

  first of all i do not want to turn this into an american bashing thread, that is not my intention at all.. i would like to hear americans opinions as to what my thirteen year old son asked me tonight.. on the way back from swimming tonight my two sons (13 and 11) and myself started talking about wars.

  my 11 year old was the first to bring it up talking about wwi & ww2.

  we had an interesting conversation about it, then the subject got onto nuclear bombs.

  Paul, You may live here and just say you live in Britain the same as I could be living in Britain and acting like a USA citizen.I see some posters location change from the virgin Islands to Austrialia and Sweden, or Norway

  If the USA hadn't come to your defence you would speaking German. All I'm saying is the USA is the most generious country in the world.

  With the WT you would be disfellowshipped if you questioned the tower, here in my country You can question its actions and call Bush a monkey and nothing happens.

  Let me kill this thread too!

  The US of A is the moist generious country in the world. We feed cloth and take care of the world and the world kicks us in the ass every chance it gets. How many countires have donated to ouyr Katrina fund or any of the other catatrophies we have gone through in the past few years. All you USA bashing idiots need to thank your luycky stars that you live in this country.

  We have friends in Europe that has been trying to gat back sergury for seven years, she is still waiting.

  To clue you in the President of the USA can not do anything without the congress consent. The only thing he can do is recommend judges for the supreme court, and that has to go through congress.

  You need to tell your children no matter how bad this country is just be thankful they live here so they question the governments actions.

  I suspect America will be recompensed in the very near future.

  Sylvia, have you forgotten 9-11 and the twin towers?

  Check the websites of the agents you're contacting and look for submission guidelines.

  Get ready for lots of rejection notes.

  Thanks...I've been on agents blogs, web pages and writers forums, and Lord knows I have received rejections, "mostly it's not for me."

  I just wanted to get some feed back from xjw to see if it sounded okay, or stupid, because this is the best place to get honest feed back.

  but typically wouldn't an outline be helpful in selling the book?

  Yes, once an agent accepts your query, they often request, a synopsis, chapter outline, and a particial; the first three chapters.THe query has a hook, then a short summary of the book along with any writers credentials ( which I don't have).

  I just wanted to see if any of the board members had any in-put or suggestions since we all know what the tower is about.

  the first time i read this book was an older copy in the mid 1990s.

  that copy was burnt by a family member and i no longer have it.

  in the newest version which i downloaded in pdf i'm having trouble finding a particular part.

  I'm not a professional writer, but from my understanding a major literary work means a book that is successful market wise that has been handled by major publishing house: Viking, Penguin, Random House, Scribners, Simon and Schusters.

  I'd cut out some of the specifics of the manuscript (in the interest of brevity) and add a little more sales pitch about what makes your manuscript unique.

  Also, in your last reply you said:

  How about including a brief reference to that in your letter?

  I just may take your advice as well as your advise.

  This is why I posted; so I would get some feed back from those who have lived the life.

  Is your work "major" and the others aren't?

  No, I'm saying the majority of the witness books are self published, where as ther are very few published by Major New York publishing houses.

  I certainly don't think my work is superior to others. I was giving the agent a mental push that with all the cult stuff that is going on a book about the tower would also be appreciated.
