  has that post been removed or can someone kindly please remind me where it is?

  in judaism, only the offended party can forgive you your sin.

  you must make amends or pay a fine.

  that is why murder cannot be forgiven; the deceased is not around to accept your apology or restitution!.

  Jesus didnt die for Adam. The way the ransom works, as explained way back in the old book "Aid to Bible Understanding", known better as the Aid book, is that Jesus had the potential to marry and father a perfect human race that would of eventually been equal in number to the imperfect human race that Adam fathered. So when Jesus died, a potential perfect human race died in his loins with him. It is that perfect potential human race that died when jesus died that was the ransom. Jesus did not die for adam, his potential perfect human race died for Adams imperfect human race. Regardless of what you think of the Watchtower, the explaination of the ransom this way is the only one that ever made sense to me anyway. Hope this helps.

  Jesus never used the name Jehovah???

  my hubby and i have been doing a lot of bible reading are we correct by saying that jesus never once used the name jehovah?

  if the name is so important surely jesus would have used it?

  the jw's say that jesus was the greatest teacher and that we should follow his example so why are they using a name that jesus did not once refer to.

  There is the scripture thats says of Jesus in a prayer saying "I have made your name known to them"...... John 17:26 So it is logical that Jesus did use the name 'Jehovah' in his ministry and to his disciples. Hope this helps........... :)

  I got a question to pose regarding a couple of sentence" toward the end of this study article ...."True, the brothers preparing these publications are not infallible. Their writings are not inspired as are those of Paul and the other Bible writers. (2 Tim. 3:16) And so, at times, it has been necessary, as understanding became clearer, to correct views. (Prov. 4:18).... hmmm, seems to me that in a couple of other threads on this site there was some discussion regarding comments in a recent WT and the Revelation book that the "resurrected anointed ones" , including those resurrected since 1918 have been "directing" or "messaging" in some way to those of the current faithful slave..... If thats true, then there would be no corrections, cause would we seriously feel that this type of direction would be given in error???? just food for thought... :)

  ...get a divorce and at least have a chance at happiness?

  my husband and i would never have gotten married if we weren't both in the borg.

  now we're both out and we have nothing in common.

  Not to make light of this topic, but I heard of a couple, he was 98 and she was 97 and they were filing for divorce after being married for 71 years!!!! The reason.... they only agreed to stay together as long as the kids were alive...... ;) I think the lesson in this is, to stay together in an unhappy, uncompatible and stifling relationship only hurts the kids because they know mom and dad do not like each other.... they grow up and wind up in the same ruts. How many of you folks out there know of 'witness' husbands or wifes whom left their marriage, got divorced, and are after not to short of a time back in good grace, even serving as elders etc and actually enjoy being married now? [thats if they chose to stay in the org that is]

  Transference of Energy

  i have been informed that an elder's wife is involed with a certain type of "medicinal treatment" that among other strange things, includes a 'transference of energy'.

  in other words, the elder's wife can work remotedly on other people's medical conditions, without having them present.

  another wife of a different elder in the same congregation wrote a letter to the service desk in canada about it, and the result was the ciruit overseer met with the elder and his magically endowed wife, and encoraged her to not focus on the stuff that seemed to bother some in the congregation, etc... hmmm, if the person was not the wife of an elder, they would normally have certain priveliges removed etc...... any comments on this?

  Current Policy re informing of DF

  just curious,.

  i have been out of the loop for a bit, but what is the current policy re informing a person that they "are no longer a jw"?

  are they still required to make x attempts at contacting, then sending a registered letter etc.... or can they simply announce the name.....??
