this topic is to focus on status updates & advice (no opinion or politics please).. status.

latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.

the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

I just got back from venturing out to get a few things at the stores. All were out of sanitizing wipes, and sanitizing hand gel. 5 Stores.

I was talking to the cashier and she said she got online yesterday and Purell was 100.00 USD for two 12 oz bottles. I just looked it up. She was right, though I didn't doubt her. I saw the dollar store brand for a 49.00 USD. It was a dollar just three days ago. I see that some states are taking action. This is the first one that popped up -

The other sad part is many elderly cant get out to go get some. Everyone of the store clerks I spoke with said it was people in their 30-40s mostly buying mass quantity. The ones not at the most risk of death.

Then I'll be damned if I didn't drive by packed houses at every single tavern and pub on the way home. That makes no sense at all to me. Or the lady in line that said, 'Its just like the flu, whats the big deal?' I said "And yes the flu kills anywhere from 200,000 -800,000 a year and it has a vaccine. This one doesn't.'. She said " Well that's just your opinion." And that's how this crap spreads. Dumb ass people.

Anyway I hope many more places jump on the band wagon to stop third party price gougers through fines and jail time.

', or similar).. but, i'd just like to start a thread about certain songs giving me goosebumps.

y'know, when you hear a song that profoundly effects you in some difficult-to-describe way and the hairs on your arm stand on end even though the room temperature's comfortably warm.. so, which songs give you goosebumps?.

I thought of this thread when I heard this new song. Return to OZ by Monolink AIR BAT. (Remember the movie "Return to OZ" where the queen has heads she tries on?

It gave me goosebumps. Thought Rubadub might like it. Or and others. I'm an electro/trance house music junkie.

I don't usually get goosebumps on a song much any more and when I do after I listen to it a few times it goes away. This one has been giving me goosebumps lately. Probably will go away after I listen to it a couple 100 times. I love surreal lyrics and surreal music to go along with it.

Water. Why not just boil the water out of the tap? Also in the camping section of stores you can buy water purifying tablets to have on hand. Also save milk jugs or any beverage container and fill it with your tapwater. Worried about it just sitting there, reboil if it comes to that.

Heck, buying Gatorade is just about the same as buying water in price. Reuse the bottles. At worst you'll have Gatorade for the hot summer months.

Why not buy alcohol and mix 60% alcohol with 40% water? That would cost hardly anything. (in addition to hand sanitizer and soap)

Food. There are so many cheap foods that one could just add water to. Buy bulk multi vitamins to make up for the lack of vitamins in the cheap dried foods.

I'm also sooo not above telling someone to cover their mouth when they cough.I don't care if it pisses them off. I'm also the kind of weirdo that if someone coughs on an isle (many times they don't even have to cough) I will just about pass out from holding my breath as I pass them to get down the isle and breath.

Toilet paper. (obviously buy some) Save your news papers. That stack of old tshirts you were going get rid of, cut them up. At worst they can be shop rags later. Paper towel rolls can be cut in half, literally.

At this point I'm not ashamed to carry Lysol and spray it when I'm in an Isle at the store. In fact I'm seeing people do it here already.

it seems the news always has another report of a pedo stalking children or hurting them.

i know this has gone on forever but i read another report of an illegal alien with a history of abuse taking advantage of another poor child.. i just don’t understand why some people do this.

is there an actual brain abnormality?

I'm obviously no expert but burning sage (smudging) has been scientifically proven to kill 94% of bacteria and viruses on contact.

After a room was smudged or rather fumed with sage smoke it remained pathogen free for a month.

I started selling sage last year. I have an entire flyer about how it kills 94% of airborne bacteria and viruses with links to scientific studies. There is actually a few entire schools dedicated to these studies on sage. I had no idea until I had already harvested a ton.

I originally just wanted to sell them as smudge sticks. Something my father and I would do (not a jw) and (native american) he would smudge me. lol

Then I started to look up sage and stumbled on the findings. I introduced it into my sales pitch to entice , say, for a hypothetical scenario that 'if there was a couple and one was looking at buying sage and the other was saying "why do you want to buy that ole stupid crap, to get rid of evil sprites or something?" , then the other could show the flyer with links to look up on the spot from science about what burning sage can do and is proven to do' then increase my chances of sales from that angle.

Anyway, I'm not trying to sell my sage here but if your at all interested you can just type in "the science of sage" in your search engine and you can find out more about it.

Personally I love the smell. I don't believe that it gets rid of evil spirits. I do find it fascinating that sage was used to wart off "evil spirits" yet really it kills 94% of airborne bacteria and viruses on contact. Maybe the natives and indigenous cultures in times past just felt better after using it or and it cleaned the whatever they where living in staffing off illness and it was associated with "cleansing" bad energy, evil, negative, ect.

I've been giving them out and just yesterday had some calls on it from some shops wanting to carry some. I have it in a couple stores at the moment.

I just thought I'd throw that info out there since its inexpensive and a little goes a long way. Look it up. Every little bit of help counts.

If your allergic to sage, use a mask while burning and act as if it a fogger and leave your house for couple hours. That is what I've heard some people doing that are allergic.

I too live near the area where 6 have died. My doctor called to check on me tonight. That's never happened before.

From what I understand she was calling all her patients.

I'm trying not to panic but this seems real odd. I do have the mountains to (escape to) if it gets out of control. So there's that.

ALL of my work gigs for the week cancelled today. Its going to get rougher I'm afraid. Life sure does't seem worth all the hassle at the moment. That was cryptic , sorry . It has just caught me off guard today.

Fink, I didn't look at the videos. I posted links of articles that had the actual reading content. I saw there were videos but just read instead. 'Sensationalized' ? Absolutely ! You'll be hard pressed to find ANY journalism/reporting/articles that are not in the global political arena.

I never said I denied climate change. Climate changes have ALWAYS taken place on this planet.

I think some people here may have completely lost their heart and soul when the left the JWS.

No one is 'Shitting' on Greta. Just calling out like it is. Also another definition of 'idiot' is 'ignorant' , which she is. She is a pawn, and a tool who is used to target a specific audience. She doesn't know, that makes her ignorant. An idiot. Which is also a clinical term for someone with severe mental/ learning disabilities and autism is classified as such.

Shame on those that use her autism and youth to further their agenda.

Autistic individuals can have some amazing abilities in very insular ways. Her autism is being used as a tool to be exploited. $$ Those people have no heart or soul. IMO

i was listening to a radio show about a jw women who had been disfellowshiped , her daughter cut off all contact ,must admit at the time i thought so what.. then this man phoned up and explained he was disfellowshiped for asking about jws being ngo in the united nations during 90s till early 2000s when a newspaper exposed them , i still thought he's a apostate but looked it up found the article then found this forum and even more info..

For me it was a radio show as well. It was in Fayettiville Arkansas on the rock station.

I recorded it as it aired and they took callers at the end. I stupidly called in (or looking back not so stupidly) and got on air. I was defending the jws. I got hit with calm logic. Brain exploded! The crack started. That was in 2001.

In truth, when I was about 8 I remember thinking that if I was the devil I would hide under the guise of "true worship" to mislead. Years later I came across Paul Harvey's speech of 'If I were the devil'. It clicked more.

Then Crisis of Conscience. Which I read several times over.

An elder also said a comment at a book study he was presiding over where he flat out said that there no way only 6-7 million people would be saved(late90s). He quickly moved on with the study, but I never forgot it. He and his wife faded shortly after but I didn't know at the time that's what he was doing.

Long story short, it was little cracks over several decades, until there was a gaping hole I could not ignore.
