"i grinned invisibly.

i think it’s time for business to reopen and let’s get the economy going again!
.
what say you??
Two weeks ago I would have said no.
But if we don't there will be nothing to save.
I totally agree with Fink it is a damned if you do damned if you don't.
For Americans the stimulus money was no where enough. If they took care of the people "like other countries are doing" then no. But they are not.
I say open back up and those that want to stay home then they should do that.
If people are being evicted left and right (despite some states non evict measures) it wont be contained anyway with mass evictions. Got to reopen sadly.
i guess boredom is setting in (i am not interested in seeing football / baseball / basketball /hockey games from five years ago).
i am switching through the channels and there is ru paul and several "friends.".
i'm not sure of which pronoun to use, but ru paul looks like a football player and not the thin, svelte person that was the ru paul of 20 years ago.
Rub-I'm not sure of which pronoun to use, but Ru Paul looks like a football player and not the thin, svelte person that was the Ru Paul of 20 years ago. Wow.
But then I guess we all tend to "enlarge" over time.
I'm pretty sure "It" doesn't know what pronoun to use either. RuPaul was sort of interesting 20 years ago but
this "thing" on tv now only needs the pronoun of "Money". Or 'freak of nature'.
This "he" "she" 'it" 'Thang" needs to go away.
What I wouldn't mind watching is Rupaul milking a cow in full on drag at his hubby's ranch.
The attitude RuPauls character displays on tv is appalling to me. I know people find it entertaining, but I simply
do not.
Yes Rub, boredom must really be setting in.
i see a lot of kids that rarely get discipline.
they are allowed to do whatever they want and if someone says something to them they don’t want to hear, they blow them off, ignore them or engage in disrespectful talk.. what’s wrong with today’s parents??
they are producing a generation of entitled brats!.
millie210, I think one problem is that young people don't have to work anymore.
I wonder about that.
When I was growing up I had to get up a 4am to go feed the horses, thaw water troughs and clean stalls. Then shower, go to school, go back to work on the farm cleaning stalls, grooming, watering, stacking hay, horse exercising ect. Do homework, bath, meeting, (or study for it) eat and if I was lucky I might have had 15 mins of downtime before bed.
I got my first paying job at 8 years old mowing lawns. My first "real" job at 13 flipping burgers. I lied on the application about my age. I was already 6ft tall by 12 years old. So I looked young but towered over most in height, by then. Convincing enough to be hired.
I played with frogs, snakes, mud, Metal Tonka trucks(how I miss those tonka trucks) animals, and the horses. No phone, only books and My imagination.
Also in my case when I was little, when there was a big job like bailing hay. It was not at all uncommon to see all the kids out lifting bails of hay right along with the adults in the hot sun. We may have complained but I don't remember anyone one saying "I want to play my video game' or 'I want my phone.' My allowance was 25cents a week. ( yes, they were cheap). lol, at least I got that.
Most of us had rules as kids then and yes we bucked them, but we had them, and breaking them came with real consequences.

Smiddy3-I had tears pouring out of my eye`s as I did so.Actually tears have appeared now as I type this yet it happened many, many years ago now.
I think for most parents the 'discipline' we give our children hurts us really bad. I do remember clearly the day I had to discipline my son for the first "real" time. I never had to spank him or get mean or loud. I came home from work and his mother was upset and said I needed to spank him for what he did that day. I didn't think a spanking was necessary( I was severely abused growing up and I felt that there had to be another way). So I just went to my sons room and told him, " (Son) , I am really disappointed with you right now. You hurt your mother today and that makes me very sad. Play in your room as long as you want because I really don't want to be around you right now if your going to behave like that. I am so hurt and so disappointed."
I had to leave the room really quick. He broke out into a massive whaling of tears. And little did he know that I went into my bedroom and buried my head in the pillow and cried like a baby. And that just hurt to type that, all these years later. I totally get it smiddy3, in my own way.
On a comical note, we quickly learned that counting to 3 did not work for us. We were young and it was like "Well, what happens when we reach 3. 1.2.3 then what?" Our son helped with that one. One day I started counting because he was doing something that we told him not to. (typical kid stuff) Anyway I said 1,,,,,, 2,,,,, and then so innocently my son said Threeeeee really loud .LOL ( he was learning numbers and just thought it was a game or something.) Me and his mother had to run to the bedroom with our hands over our mouths because we were laughing so hard and didn't want him to see us. I remember us laughing so hard that our belly's hurt.

I never had to spank my son. All that was needed was me saying "xxx I'm am so disappointed with this behavior right now". That's all it took for him when he was little.
However I believe that my bio father should have busted my behind, when I burnt the barn down playing with matches after he told me not to. He did nothing for whatever reason. Id love to know how someone else would have handled that?
I do think that the majority of the time a child can be reasoned with and understand how they should behave.
I have helped raise several kids over the years and never once had to spank them. Talking firm and kind worked. As an example my exs little girl that was 9 yrs old flipped her mom off from the back seat of the car. I explained how disrespectful that was and moved on.
I have a question, If a 12 year old told his mom 'F%^& you, your not taking my video game away' and then proceeded to slap her. Do you just say "oh sweetie, no no, go wash up for dinner." ? What does one do in cases like that? I have seen some kids slap their parents, kick the car, destroy something because the parent didn't do what they wanted, like buy something at the store.
So how could one handle that type of behavior?
I in no way am 'spanking' happy. But in that instance .... well, what to do? I've seen so many parents just take it and then wonder why there adult child became so disrespectful.
This would have been a much better way to frame the comment I wrote earlier. Since I myself have never had to spank a child.
it's an alternate history called "1910: war in the pacific," about a (mostly naval) war between the united states and japan after the japanese buy alaska from the russians it's now on sale on amazon in both print and kindle formats.
it grew out of a short story i wrote a number of years ago.
that story was just posted on jeffthomasbooks.wordpress.com.
Congratulations JeffT! That's awesome news!
Been working on mine for 10 years. I got a long way to go yet.

It sure seems like it. My older age is showing...
It seems more like a first world problem. Or I'll even go so far to say an American/Uk/ Canadian/ problem, obviously else where too and not all parents in these places are so flippant with rules. Just more of them than some other places. But I have noticed many other countries that will not hesitate to "bust that ass" of a child that needs it.
It does seem somewhat cultural as well. I know some people in Spain, Italy, Russia, Iraq, from online and we've talked about this. Those parents have no problem whooping that arse. Those adults have massive respect for their elders, and even their society as a whole. They also look down on americans big time in this department.
I do think it human nature during the teen and younger years to feel as if one has a better grip on life that the 'older ones' ....until age and experience sets in. Then many people do change, look back and see just how much of a spoiled shit ass they were.
Some people never see it.
I find myself saying more and more, "those damn teenagers". "those kids need a butt busting", "the kids of today are so spoiled and don't know it", "back in my day if I talked like that", ect... Same thing I heard when I was young from older ones.
Also, haven't many schools stopped spanking? And lots of places parents can get arrested if they spank their child. (calling it abuse) Abusing the word abuse. I'm sure it was necessary in some cases to stop the pyco parents from really abusing kids , but then its gone to far.
Bust those butts!
scholars generally agree that it was written between the 7th and 4th centuries bce, with the 6th century bce as the most likely period for various reasons.
the book of job .. so according to jw`s about 6,000 years ago satan rebelled against jehovah god ,did jehovah disown him there and then shunning him ?.
apparently not as we can read from the book of job centuries later that satan could still come and go freely before the throne of jehovah in heaven .job 1: 6. and apparently he could still do this for centuries later ,that is coming to and fro before jehovah because according to the jw religion he wasn`t cast out of heaven for another 2,000 years until the 20th century .. now in the case of jesus much of what is said about jehovah and satan also applies to jesus before he came to earth.. but even when he was on earth he didn`t shun satan either in fact he allowed satan to lead him around according to the bible account.luke 4:13 so the devil having concluded all the temptations retired from him until another convenient time .so it wasn`t jesus calling the shots here it was satan .. mark 1: 13 he ,jesus, also shared 40 days in the wilderness with satan letting him tempt him .. so their was no way either jehovah or jesus ever shunned satan the devil according to the bible writings.. and when jesus ascended to heaven after his sacrifice he along with his father jehovah still had association with satan the devil until he was cast out of heaven 2,000 years later ,according to the jw`s..
MeanMrMustard- LOL
Smiddy3- I use to ask these types of questions growing up. No wonder it seemed I was always in trouble. I was just using logic and was to little to know that I wasn't supposed to (in the jw org). In time, it warped me into thinking that my logic was flawed. Something that has had deep tentacles in my mind causing me all sorts of unnecessary blips in life. Its taken sooooo long to trust my own gut and logic.
Im sure in answer to the question a jw would probably say that "only jehovah knows". Or that "he is jehovah , that's why". Kind of like a parent that always says "because I said so". Yet never explains why, because the 'why' is a control issue and they must have it to be right.
i was searching for something on the wt online library, and was struck by all the requirements a jw has in order to be "saved".. want to see a partial list?
all these found by searching for "salvation depends" on wol.
just do all 26 things, and you too can be saved!.
Oh, and I just simply adore the scripture that they use. "Do all these things and probably you will be concealed in the day of jehovahs anger."
Probably! Oh hell no! jeho has got me totally 'f'ed up!
