  Brainwashing left a stain

  hi one of my jw parents died recently of old age , after decades of brainwashing of the dead are just a sleep and if we are good we would see them again in paradise .. i fully understand now you have one life and should make the best of it but finding it difficult at the moment to get my head around it .. it's just a bit of a rant but your the only ones that i can try and express how i feel and be able to understand after the years of brainwashing how it affects my thinking process.. thanks for any help and advice..

  Thanks for your kindness and advice, I understand it will take time to heal.

  A family member who I shunned because they didn't marry in the lord and then celebrated Christmas when they had a family was there because of nessary family business, we were having a chat about things and I took the opportunity to apologize for how I treated them for over 20 year's expecting them to tell me to f##k off , but they accepted my apologies and hopefully we can move forward I know it will take time.

  have you heard anything ?

  i was a witness from grade school ( 1976) until 2007. i seem to remember an important aspect that was always talked about at the hall as being a fact.they would say that "the rocks themselves would cry out" if the public preaching work was to stop,,,,, all i've seen and heard these past few months are the witnesses complaining about the witnessing work coming to a halt.but i've not heard one rock crying .. .

  Have you ever known elders who were more into being and elder than really being a believer?

  i have known many elders who were much more into the idea of being an elder and getting all the old ladies to tell them what wonderful talks they give and the power then really being a believer.

  i had one elder tell me that when he became an elder he was on top dog on top of the heap.

  i knew some who were really all about the religion and following the cult.

  A gong I was in the po ,his son and son in laws and there pals were elders so some of it is a social thing and to be included in that circle .

  And some wife's pushed there husband to be elders to be included in the social circle too.

  i'm not totally new here, as i'm reading since some time...then i tried to sign up but had some technical issue with the email,eventually recovered..... i'm from north italy, for your info from the region where the covid is worse.

  i'm male, generation millennial(...unfortunately not the overlapped generation :))) ) ..sorry to don't go in so much details, but i'm pimo ;).

  Thanks everyone for your kind words

  Being a born in 50 plus years like many here it's just proves the continued indoctrination can have on our thinking it's only been a few years fading but still a work in progress.

  Italiancalipso welcome and thanks very interesting article , one of my kids is studying physics at uni and always says physics is everything and everything is physics ,

  I don't believe there is a god anymore the evidence I have considered is saying to me that nothing is out there but the wonders of the universe.
