haha, that works, and it's ok.....well frankly that's another thing. There are reasons why I don't want my name known, and no-one had a right to take that away from me. I guess it's no big deal with my first name, but I've posted where I'm from, where I was DFd, and the whole nine yards. It won't be hard for people to put two and two together now, thanks to the mess last night.

Yes, I guess you could say that kelsey, but I'm going to try my best not to dwell on it. As for Amazing's post, I thought that was what he was after, BUT, it would be nice to use someone else as an example, haha. Had I or other people that didn't know what was going on viewed this thread, they just might have gone on believing the 'mishandled' version of this saga. I don't believe he did that intentionally, but of course it could happen. Even now, Amazing pointed out that someone could read the first post of a thread and go wild with it, excellent point, but they could do that here in this thread as well, and there's my email and business information splattered all over up there. I guess no big deal compared to last night, but who knows, it could cause problems.

I asked Bill why he didn't call me. He said because he can never get through, meaning I never answer the phone, which I don't, I screen my calls, But even if I'm on the other line, all my calls get routed through my voice mail, even if all lines are being used. I think he overreacted, jumped the gun, etc etc etc, but he's human, it happens. He got freaked out and scared I'm sure. I've forgiven him for that, but not the fact that I haven't slept as of yet . Running around the web doing damage control so to speak all night into today. The sad thing is that thousands of people received this email. Not only was it sent by Bill, through his mailing list, but then by the people on his mailing lists that have mailing lists of their own, and it just steam rolled. There are alot of people out there that will never know the truth, ESPECIALLY because alot of the silentlambs supporters don't post here. I'm not real happy about that, but what can I do?

I think that you should verify everything before you call me a loser. Perhaps you should check Lin's thread ( http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.aspx?id=42651&site=3&page=1) again and make sure you know all sides and exactly what happened before you pass judgement on another human being. Just a suggestion, take it for what it's worth. Pay particular attention to this post:

Subject: PeaceMany of you may not believe this but I really am a peaceful person. It is far easier to make peace than war in my opinion. I am starting out this way because I just had a conversation with [Rev]. We have made peace. It has been a difficult seven days for the both of us and the root of the problem seems to be misunderstanding and not communicating. While many of the things described occurred there were reasons that help give a clearer picture of what happened. The website got hacked and unbeknown to [Rev] his emails were not getting through to me. Passwords were sent Monday, I never got them. A contract was sent out, I never got it. My emails in return in large part were not received also thus preventing him from knowing what I was asking for. The longer the non-communication the greater the anxiety especially when you are looking at three months hard work going down the tubes.
After communicating [Rev] and I have agreed to work together on saving what has been done to date on the website and transferring it to an outside party to finish the site. [Rev] agrees that a non jw background individual would be better in the long run for silentlambs development. We have also agreed to not worry about copyrights on the website other than what might give [Rev] credit for working with a nonprofit organization.
Regarding the rest what can I say, lets make peace not war. I hold no hard feelings toward [Rev] and offer an apology for any area where there were misunderstandings. He is a good person and I hope no one will give him a hard time due to the earlier email. I would also ask for the sake of peace that the earlier email be removed from anywhere it might have been posted as it is no longer an issue.
We are communicating, silentlambs development is moving forward and that is a positive.

Yes, I agree, peace. Misunderstandings happen. Bill and I are very 'touchy' on the subject of Abuse within the Watchtower society (Abuse in general as a matter of fact). We're very passionate when it comes to all of this. Bill has put alot into silentlambs, and I put alot into the website, but the website among other things is an archive of the hard work Bill has accomplished WAY before I was around. So when he doesn't hear from me, and receives no response from my emails (because I'm not getting them, and he's not getting mine), he freaked. With good damn reason, the site appeared to be GONE. That's alot of hard work down the tubes, or so he thought at the time. I don't fault him, so I surely don't think anyone else should either. None of us are perfect. I also agree 100% with Bill on hiring an outside webmaster, and the more I think about it, the more I support that decision (not that he needs my support). The emotional ties that we have, coupled with the shear size of that site, and reading those stories posted there, and dealing with it day in and day out is enough to drive someone insane.
Thank you Bill for clarifying things publicly, only an honorable man would have done so. And thank you all for understanding how these things can happen, and please go about your business, there's nothing to see here (haha, now I'm a cop).
The bottom line is, we're all working hard on these things, we're all doing our part for one cause or another. There's not one of us here that isn't. So we are very adamant about our feelings, we're very open with our opinions. It doesn't make us bad, it makes us human. I have only one more thing to say about all this. I hope that we all learn something from it. No matter what happens, or who says what, or who has this opinion or that opinion......Please make sure you get the full story and check all sources. We shouldn't be here to fight with one another, we should be here to support one another.

This was all a misunderstanding, I just got off the phone with Bill. Passwords were changed ONLY because the site was hacked last night and this evening as well. NOTHING has been hijacked. I just want to set the record straight here quickly, but Bill has informed me he will be sending out a mass email recanting on this, and informing everyone that it was in fact a misunderstanding, and miscommunication, and to please remove any copies of this email that anyone might have posted in different places. The work WAS done for free, but the passwords were changed to save the site, NOT for any other reasons. The site is intact, and is live. Bill still owns the site, and always has. You can't possibly hijack a copyrighted, registered site...

by Englishman inif i had ever been a victim of abuse, and the offence had been perpetrated by a member of the jw religion, then silent lambs would be the best thing ever to appear, both on tv and in person.. if i had a close friend or relative who had gone through the same trauma, then i would feel almost the same emotion.. now i do not know, obviously, what percentage of persons on this site have been victims of abuse by jw's, but my guess is that this percentage is relatively small.
so whilst most of us feel very empathetic to abuse victims, not that great a proportion of us have experienced it personally.. however, i do know that many of us have suffered trauma because of other forms of abuse by this organisation, including disfellowshipping which has caused many to be rejected by their loved ones.
whilst it is not possible to measure this form of abuse against that of child abuse, it is nonetheless a type of abuse that most of us are familiar with on a personal level, it's also a type of abuse that is still going on for many who post here.
