  the standard for robot exclusion (sre) is a means by which web site owners can instruct automated systems not to crawl their sites.

  web site owners can specify files or directories that are allowed or disallowed from a crawl, and they can even create specific rules for different automated crawlers.

  all of this information is contained in a file called robots.txt.

  it just means that the webmaster of jw-media.org doesn't want google (among other search engines) to spider and index those directories;

  i don't know what eles to call it , i guess it is the user name....lol.......so what does yours mean?.

  i think awhile back i might have asked this,,,,,,,but it was way back and so many new ones here that i am just getting to know, and ones who came in here while i was not here as much.

  there may be a thread on this in the last recent months, i am not sure,,,,if so, if there are any new ones who want to tell why they choose their user names,,,,,please do.. i will tell you why my name is lyineyes,,,,,many have asked me that here lately.

  You're absolutely correct. I live in NY and I will vote, yet it won't make a difference in the outcome of the election(s). Kerry will take my state just as so many Dems have in the past.

  BUT, if we ever want a chance of throwing this ridiculous electoral vote out the window, we MUST vote regardless.

  It's the only chance we have. Don't fool yourself into thinking your vote doesn't count just because it won't make a difference in November.

  i know the question seems juvenile.

  but, i'm curious.. mine, i think, is a tie between wladyslaw szpilman's performance of chopin's nocturne in c-sharp minor and angela hewitt's version of bach's goldberg variations -- the aria is divine!.

  a friend just passed along this information.. if you've wished that you could create pdf files for document distribution but have been discouraged by the high price of the full version of adobe acrobat, check out pdf995.

  I have XP and it works well with mine. However, I just attempted to install it on a machine with win98 and it won't install. No crashing going on, but it's just not working for me on this PC.

  Bummer....

  I would think that the cause for the XP people is not the fact that they have xp, but rather it's clashing with other programs they may be running. It'd be my guess anyway.
