it then refers to ephesians 4:11-13 which speaks of christ giving some as apostles, some as evangelisers, some as shepherds and teachers etc.. there could be a contradiction here for on the one hand the wts is portraying the congregations as independently governed units and on the other hand it claims that there was a central governing body 'ruling' over all congregations in the first century.. we can well appreciate that towns have local administrations making their own laws and regulations.
Future shedding is quite possible (hey, it gets the liability away from the boys in Brooklyn and onto the schmuchs in the congregation) but it could also be like that now. Each congregation is kind of like a town that lives in a nation with a VEEEEEERY strong federal government.

i have stated in other posts that i am a vietnam veteran.
when studying, i was told how "stupid" i was for going off to that war long ago.
even though i was often made to feel less a person because of my military service, i still was baptized and eventually, saw the light and left the borg.. i also belong to a yahoo message group comprised of fellow veterans that i served with long ago.

I've heard that there's supposed to be a metal that all who served during the cold war are eligible to recieve. Have you heard anything about that? I remember hearing about it in the newspaper a while back but don't remember much about it. My wife's dad served in Vietnam and his dad served during and for a short while after WWII and I've told them both I would look into how one goes about getting that medal. Since I know absolutely nothing about how the military works I don't even know where to start.
As for your actions back then, I'm proud of all the brave men and women who have done what needed to be done and thank you for all the sacrifices you've made to protect us all, even those who would say you're evil for doing what had to be done to protect them. I wanted to join the military after I left high school but since I'm diabetic I couldn't.

our hall is being remodelded, so last night during the announcements, the brother said, "we need as many brothers as we can get to help with doing the work this weekend..." then he has the sheer audacity to say, "and we will also need some sisters to clean up the mess afterwards.

I've been the guy you're dating. Well, at least in that situation anyways. Coming from experience, the only advice I can give you is RUN!!!! Save yourself the trouble that will come at a later time. If he really cares about you let him come back should he ever decide to leave the JW's on his own but until then DO NOT stay with him. If there's one thing I regret more than anything else I did as a JW it would be the way I treated the wonderful girls I dated because they weren't JW's. I've since apologized to the ones that actually matter and I know how to get in contact with which just goes to show how great they are but do yourself a favor and find someone who won't feel ashamed to be with you.

i went w/ my ex to the hall tonight, don't remember much except walking in, hiding in the bathroom for half hour, and dodging all the schmoozing when trying to exit the building.
i also remember my ex holding my hand and smiling at me.
it was a happy smile, like "i am so glad you're here w/ me", but it hinted of evil intentions.
Look at it this way, you stopped seeing him for a reason. I'm assuming that same reason is still there. Remember that reason when he comes around. Before I got married that is what kept me from ever going back out with any of my x's even though they may have wanted to.

When my wife and I first met we were in college and she thought I was going out with this girl I'm friends with. At one point in time I did have a thing for this friend but by the middle of seventh grade it had died out. I still get a kick out of it although on a certain level just the thought of doing something with that friend is just yucky. Just goes to show that people of the opposite sex can have platonic friendships.
