"This Generation" at the meeting today
by Batman89 init was really quite amusing 2day at the meeting when we got to the "this generation will not pass away" subheading in the wt.
the conductor spent very little time on the section and the comments that were given didnt at all make sense really.
you can tell its not understood by the majority of the friendsand will go over there heads, i was trying not to laugh lol.

I saw an interview with Dave Mustaine ( Megadeth.....also raised as a JW). He said he believes in God because he first believed in the devil.
This new understanding of the new understanding of the new understanding is just mockery now. I bet the GB are just rolling on the floor laughing about this. They must video cameras in the halls , comparing the stupiest comments and just ROFL.

Do some so over the top, thanking Jehovah for the Slave faith and see how many times you use the term " False Religion ". Make it almost comedical and throw in some blood stuff and dying for Jehovah and don't forget the apostates and make sure you are so really really really made when you do it.
Make it so disgusting, see if you can actually make people get up and leave the hall.
See who rolls there eyes with disgust and later become friends with them.

Sorry
I am a UBM mate but when I do go to the hall there only seems like four studies.
Dangers of higher education
Revelations/Daniel
Giving thanks for the magical men in Brooklyn.
Doomsday
I always thought average Jehovah Witness really knew the bible inside outside. It is surprising how little they actual do know.

Wa State Mudslide - Witness saved by being away at Circ. Ass.
by tresdecu ini heard something through the grapevine...was curious if it was an 'official view' long story short, it was stated (??
) that a jw would have been killed had she stayed home and not gone to a ca.
(in washington state) has anyone else heard about this?

I remember there were two sisters killed in a car accident in my Hall. The story basically goes it was so freakin cold that month that there was no field service during the entire month. Finally there is a little break in the weather and the witnesses are out in full force so they don’t have to put down zero on their field service reports. Still there is no reason anyone should be travelling up and down icy highways with oil trucks going back and forth.
Finally a little Honda civic meets an 18 wheeler head on.
Go to funeral. Not a single tear shred. C.O gives the talk. Never did anyone ever say “It is stupid to drive up and down icy roads or life is more important than your field service report. Five minutes about the person, 20 minutes about the Borg.
The sick part was you could see the elders counting heads in the crowds during the speech. Then I heard people talking after. “Do you believe 600 people showed up, no I heard it was closer to 700, no I heard it was closer to 800.”
I wonder if that story will be in one of the magazines. Sad part I think it will expect they will be martyrs for Jehovah. Died doing what they loved and service to him.

I have looked at this verse more about the terrible price one has to pay to become a Christian.
Leaving Islam, Jehovah Witnesses and other various cults can cost you your family. Jesus was saying you have to love me more than them to be my follower. You know, A true Christian not involved in false religion. I actually used that exact line when studying with the elders. Man was he pissed. I figured he was going to pull the whole pompous and arrogant crap, I would do the same.
It’s funny how JW talk about the terrible price they pay for joining the borg from family members but it is really the ones who leave that pay the price.

We had a baptized couple a show in jeans for a C.O visit.
We have another couple that are making about 5-6 meeting a year. As for field service, I don’t think they do it anymore and are still included as publishers on the back board.
We were in the middle of a study and they are taking about how the bible understandings change and then the next paragraph it was about how it is important to keep shunning the disfellowed. I approached the head elder after the meeting and said “ So the truth today can be different than the truth tomorrow and if you don’t believe this you are not allowed to see your family again ?” Is that really what that meeting was about. Maybe we could have a study sometime and you show me that in the bible “.
We exchanged numbers. Never heard from him.

Anyone Else Feeling Forced to Go to the Memorial?
by PaintedToeNail ini refuse to go to any meetings, assemblies, conventions, special talks or the like...however, i get coerced into going to the memorial every year.
because it keeps the peace at home with hubby and also makes my parents, who live elsewhere, have hope that i will come to my senses and become an active witness again.
there is no chance in hell of that happening, but it prevents the ties to my family from being severed.

I don’t know if anyone is familiar with Satanism or Satanic metal but the whole idea of the upside down cross or drinking blood is to mock God.
The whole memorial seems to making a mockery of Christianity. The whole thing feels more like a marilyn manson concert to me. Last year then they started to pass the bread and wine I just sat in the bathroom for 20 minutes. It really got too disgusting for me.

Why don't Born Again Christians include themselves as "Cults"?
by booker-t inwhen i see or hear born again christians calling mormons, jws, 7th day adventists, jews etc; cults i always have wondered is that not the pot calling the kettle black?
i just amazes me how so much in denial bacs(born again christians) are.
they love to condemn and throw stones at others but they will never, never, and i mean never label themselves as cults even though they have some of the weirdest beliefs.

Born again Christian don’t
Don’t have mindless obedience to human leadership.
Being a Born again doesn’t destroy lives and families.
Doesn’t require additional holy books or prophets to understand god’s word.

I remember sitting in some meeting and they were doing the whole mock house holder thing.
Aren’t JW a cult – House holder
No, Cults revolve around human leadership and our leadership is the remnant of anointed Christians and Jesus Christ. - JW
Oh that makes sense –House holder
Meanwhile, I am thinking, man you just lied. It’s all just made up by 8 magical men in Brooklyn. What exactly do these heavenly hopers have to do with watchtower policy.
Now they admit it is all just made up my magical 8. No one cares.
Sad.
