I was not at all denigrating you in any way shape or form!
I was sarcastically bringing out how utterly ridiculous the Watchtower Society views things. The very fact that you are being ignored or shunned by other witnesses for no valid reason whatsoever, is just incredibly stupid. Shunning should only be done in extreme cases, but then only temporary, giving the shunnee (if there is such word) a chance to recuperate (regardless whether he goes back to the meetings or not). Bill, when I read your post, it created an anger in me against the WSBTS, as they do not follow bible principles in so many areas.
I hope you are now understanding what I meant with my first letter on this post, as it was a play on words to highlight how judgmental they really are....

I am not sure if there are more Kingdom Halls or not, but they may have more congregations and that's easily done: you form a group and call it a congregation in a certain area, so in effect you could have 5, 6 or more congregations in one KH whereas some congregations could be as small as 20 members. That in itself does not constitute growth at all. Certainly the overal pricture is seriously down, so the logical question arises: is Jehovah's blessing still upon the WTBS at this moment? (I doubt if God's blessing was ever there). I still remember how clear the Society was (and is?) in declaring that the preaching work would be enormously intensified with an expected increase in members just before the end comes.....
Maybe the increase will be with ex-members before the end of the Watchtower comes....!:*) Richie

You must be continually doing abhorrent things such as committing adultery over and over again or is it fornication constantly, or you must be very greedy, maybe an extortioner or perhaps a reveler, maybe a murderer or a thief? Now I can see the reason why your wife's friend shuns you and she must be right - But Bill, if for some reason you do NOT do these things, then why would these witnesses consider you as a dead man? Is it perhaps because they are being forcefed this unscriptural idea of shunning from the Society?
Now you ask me who really is the faithful and judgmental slave...of course the Watchtower.... How discreet!:*) Richie

I agree with you in this way: True, protestants and many other denominations show themselves to be enemies of bible teachings, although not entirely, as they do know some truth. The Witnesses on the other hand do posses a wealth of biblical information, but the important thing here is how they dispense this biblical knowledge.
Always remember, it's the Society first and foremost, then the bible; with other words: when there is a conflict, you must follow the Society's teachings before anything else... This reminds me too much of the Jewish class (Pharisees), yet the Jewish leaders at the time HAD the truth and enjoyed Jehovah's blessing as well, but they made the truth invalid by their coldheartedness and the many rules and regulations they enforced..... You do not have a clue what really happened with the Society in the last 75 years or so. All you do is expound a reasoning which is so similar to JW propaganda while at the same time not do any checking whether these things are truly based on facts and unbiased information. You do not really know what an apostate is; anyone who has a different idea, however slight, you brand them as apostates...
Then you rave about Ray Franz, how wicked this man must be, yet you never investigated the goings on with the Governing Body at the time. Of course you have not read his accounts, otherwise you would never come to your false and excessively biased conclusions. If you knew what happened, you would certainly sing a different tune alltogether.
I know for myself that the GB will experience Jehovah's wrath in the future, since they are no different than a modern Pharisaical class.
One last point: I personally find your answers in the various posts very cold, calculated and without any sort of compassion, yes certainly not the sort which exist among those who truly follow Jesus' example. When there is no love, then all is for nothing...:*) Richie

Can You Defend Yourself before a J. Committee?
by D wiltshire into those who have been before a judicial committee for apostacy.. the elders will ask you questions not for the purpose of finding out the truth, but to make sure they can df you.. at my appeal hearing serveral months ago i was questioned by the appeal committees to their satifaction, they even thanked me for my honesty, as it helped them get what they were looking for to make the original dfing stand.. after they were finished with their questions i ask if i could now defend myself and prove that i was telling the truth and not a biblical apostate.. the chairman informed me that i would not be allowed to defend myself.. i looked at all 8 brothers(2 committees 5 & 3) in total amazement at his refusal to allow me to defend myself.
to them(8) it seem perfectly alright not to allow me to defend myself.. wow.. the chairman said they really were not a judicial court and did not need to be that concerned about doing things in harmony with what is concidered to be fair and right by worldly courts or the bible.
in fact the chairman spent about 10 minutes trying to explain why they didn't have have to be fair in the legalistic way of courts.. .

I was going to ask you to appeal again, but I guess they did disfellowship you already in the meantime. I believe you can appeal many times over but I do not know exactly how many times you are allowed to. I myself appealed twice and it was the same verdict: guilty (or not repentent)!
You are so correct in saying that they just want to prove their point in front of others in that they can nail you shut and declare you guilty... Very rarely has the appeal system born fruits for the "guilty" one. you see, they allow you to appeal because that's the "democratic" way to do (as it is done in the worldly court system), yet when you show a desire to defend yourself, you are forbidden to exercise that right...sounds very ambiguous to me!
As you said, they are not there to help you but to disfellowship you!
This way they believe that they accomplished something by "cleaning" out the congregation. How sad they do not realize that they themselves should be the very ones to be reprimanded and rebuked for their Pharisaical attitude full of coldness and lack of love.....Richie :*)

Welcome to this board Disney Cuty...
You will recognize very quickly through intelligent observance and study that the Witnesses control their people to an enormously large degree! There are many posts on this board you can check out for yourself which you'll find very gratifying to say the least.
I for myself have been df'd for almost 2 years - yes it was not easy at first since we were all captive to the JW-mindset personality where we had to search out for ourselves who we really are in the stream of things. The Society conditioned us to lead our lives, they set our patterns how to think whereas we were never allowed to independently check out for ourselves whether these "things" were right or wrong as otherwise we could be branded as would-be apostates...
After a short time you'll be able to think freely, reason out things without the prodding of an organization and to think the way we ought to think in a free environment where love can abound if we only allow ourselves to flourish with our God-given intelligence how we as human beings can serve God in an unobstructive manner by being ourselves and freed from the heavy burdens of a man-made hierarchy of things....

Question for you all
by wonderwoman77 ini was wondering if anyone has ever felt like they were in a relationship where the person is an empty bottle with holes in the bottom, and you are constantly trying to fill them up?
i was listening to the song not the doctor by alanis and it triggered this in my brain.

The only relationship I had having to do with bottles and holes were with a lot of witnesses I had befriended over the years. There was literally no one you could really confide in and tell them exactly what was on your mind. The first thing they would have done is to run to an elder and then say to me that it is for my own good.
So I could never get serious with any of them, but keep a superficial relationship going while keeping my thoughts to myself most of the time. There is a hole in the bucket dear Liza dear Liza.....LOL:*) Richie
