what if living in "this evil generation" was the only issue, as well as even overlapping with Zachary's , Herode's, Mary's and lately also Pauls evil generation. He had certainly actually to accomplish an earthly life comprising childhood and adulthood in an evil generation to be able to speak originally about "this generation", otherwise these words would have no significance for us today and would be meaningless and our understanding of this generation would have no basis.

Last saturday I passed in the town by 3 men standing in front of a fish restaurant. The restaurant was newly opened and there were many people around curious about the opening
One of them leaned against a column, he was old and it was difficult for him to stand long. In the hand he held his magazines as always. It was my former good companion, presiding overseer most of the time too, and an important overseer in the region, as well as a good convincing rethoric and nearly each sunday we did house to house service together. He was one of my tutors. Next to him stood a JW guardian or watchdog, I guess a relative and they intensively talked both with a stranger.
Brother A.M. looked exhausted by the cold wind and old, but as he has done in his whole JW career he also this Saturday exemplarily stood with the 2 magazines in his hand on Saturday morning on the same place in the centre.
I pitied him and thought perhaps it may be the last time I meet him at all, because he was old.
I took the opportunity to say hello
"How are you? and how is your wife?"
"Hello" only.
I streched my excommunicated hand.
He tried infact a little to strech me his hand, but hesitated. I again strechted out my right hand, the he grasped mine too.
"I am fine and my mother is also fine, she is now 84". i said.
He positive. "Buuuuuuutt the Memorial!!"
"Do you take the magazines?" streching them against me.
"No thanks, i know them"
"I just wanted to say hello. Today it is really too cold to stand here"
No info how he was or how his wife was.
As THIS was certanly for him an affront he looked away from me as if he was busy with the other guys and continueed his conversation.
I left like a fool after I had annoyed him. Hopeful the others wont find out that I was an ex who shaked his hands. I dont know them and they dont know me. Thats good.
How ugly and senseless

Does the Average R&F JW understand what grace is in Christianity ?
Of course not, how could it be otherwise, if the average christian has no clue either?
Probably the average contemporary understands
an act extending clemency to offenders before the law (such as one at the beginning of a new reign granting pardon or amnesty to numerous offenders)

United Nations elects Saudi Arabia to Women's Rights Commission
by freemindfade inthe irony would be hilarious if it weren't so sad.
that's right, a country that bans women from driving cars is on the un womens rights commission.
"electing saudi arabia to protect women’s rights is like making an arsonist into the town fire chief," .

Saudi Arabia is only one of the members of the Commission. This is not Armageddon! Prince Mohammed Ibn Salman is planning a gigantic amusment park in Riad, Saudi Arabia, with Alcohol, cinemas and theaters.
There are many women fighting in Arabia to achieve the standards that are garantueed by the Basic Law and the holy Quoran, to which the King is committed to. Under these circumtances integration is the best way! Many women with higher education have high positions in Arabia. A modernisation has to be supported.
Women Rights
Saudia Arabia was once participating in the draft of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights ( UDHR ) and was present at the ceremonial declaration but it abstained in the final vote like the communist countries and apartheid africa.
The Saudi Arabian delegation abstained in the final vote mostly for two reasons: because of the wording of Article 16 on equal marriage rights and because of objections to the clause in Article 18 which states that everyone has the right to change his religion or belief. In an essay he wrote later, Cassin pointed out that the inclusion of Article 18 had not prevented other countries with Muslim populations, like Syria, Iran, Turkey and Pakistan, from voting for the Declaration.(10) http://ccnmtl.columbia.edu/projects/mmt/udhr/udhr_general/drafting_history_10.html
http://ccnmtl.columbia.edu/projects/mmt/udhr/udhr_general/drafting_history_10.html
Turkey—a secular state with an overwhelmingly Muslim population—signed the Declaration in 1948.[30] However, the same year, Saudi Arabia abstained from the ratification vote on the Declaration, claiming that it violated Sharia law.[31] Pakistan—which had signed the declaration—disagreed and critiqued the Saudi position.[32]Pakistani minister Muhammad Zafarullah Khan strongly argued in favor of including freedom of religion.[33] In 1982, the Iranian representative to the United Nations, Said Rajaie-Khorassani, said that the Declaration was "a secular understanding of the Judeo-Christian tradition" which could not be implemented by Muslims without conflict with Sharia.[34] On 30 June 2000, members of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (now the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation) officially resolved to support the Cairo Declaration on Human Rights in Islam,[35] an alternative document that says people have "freedom and right to a dignified life in accordance with the Islamic Shari'ah", without any discrimination on grounds of "race, colour, language, sex, religious belief, political affiliation, social status or other considerations".
Saudi Arabia has the Cairo Declaration of Human Rights but cooperates with U.N. who has the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
UDHR vs CDHRI
http://blogs.lse.ac.uk/mec/2012/12/10/1569/
women rights: The CDHRI is less universal, stipulating in Article 6 that woman is equal to man in human dignity, and has rights to enjoy as well as duties to perform. The very nature of this clause undermines gender equality as it infers, arguably with good reason, that Shari’a law prescribes men and women different rights and duties. Men and women are equal, but different and should be considered as such in the eyes of the law and their rights protected as such in human rights declarations. The CDHRI, through its pandering to conservative interpretations of Shari’a law, enables the violation of other human rights that women should enjoy including the entitlement to a fair and public hearing by an independent and impartial tribunal, the right to freedom of movement and residence within the borders of each state and equal rights as to marriage, during marriage and at its dissolution.

"do whatever you can and as much as you can under the circumstance"
'As honest and law-abiding citizens what whould they have done immediatly in 2016 after the new anti-terror law in Russia entered into force?
They would have stopped acting against the law, as already mentioned in previous postingst! They would have realized that this state wants to proctect citziens from any danger of terrorism and would have been therefore the first honest and law-abiding people to support the Yarovaja Law, and this exemplarily.
They would have stopped religious evangelization going from house to house and meetings and would have so shown that they dont want to fight against the Russian church or defame it even if they knew that the orthodox church supported the law because it didnt want a foreign funding, because itself doesnt receive a foreign funding or because fundings may be misused by illegal dangerous cults and terrorists. So any financial transactions from abroad would have been stopped immediatley, and no literature with theocratic ministry phantasm would be handed out.
Instead of being honest and law-abiding they fight the law and rouse the internal community against the anti-terror law and instead of being an example of obidience in quick obidience and so helping all the other evangelizing churches they attract attention to evil methods and many complicated marginal dogmas like the theocratic ministry and denial of obidience to the state by propaganda in 2016 on the convention with a video about bunkers and awaitable persecution for meeting after a state forbids to meet.
They waited for the court and that was to less. I dont expect any decision of the european court of justice or human rights would that would be made in some years would impress the Russians. Dont the Britains not also disrespect the Europan Court of Justice already? Russians will certanly not pay compensation like the austrian goverment payed out to JW after the complaint at the European Court of Justice.
Anyway, So they bring much harm with their head-in-the-sand policy and their disobidience to the state.
They are not doing whatever they can and are not obdidient under these circumstances, themselves.

by OrphanCrow inthe way that the wt conducts business in russia, hiding ownership of property and moving money overseas, was a large factor in the jws falling afoul of the russian authorities.
it wasn't just 'extremist' views that came into play, it was also their handling of money that was illegal.. this article is from a russian news source - i had to use google translate to read it, so i have copied and pasted the whole article (i usually don't...apologies to the author of the article).

In case you may not have read this about the russian anti-terror law.
Therefore also others religions with missionary activities like Mormons, Pentecostals, Baptists and others are under suspiction.
The amendments also include new restrictions on evangelism and missionary work.[8] The amendments add a new provision to Russia's Religion Legislation, stating that "missionary activity" may only be performed "without hindrance" at churches and other religious sites designated by the chapter, and that it is expressly forbidden to perform missionary activities in private residences. "Missionary activity" is defined as "the activity of a religious association, aimed at disseminating information about its beliefs among people who are not participants (members, followers) in that religious association, with the purpose of involving these people as participants (members, followers). It is carried out directly by religious associations or by citizens and/or legal entities authorised by them, publicly, with the help of the media, the internet or other lawful means."[9] Missionary activities may not be used to pursue violations of public safety, "the motivation of citizens to refuse to fulfil their civic duties as established by law and to commit other illegal acts", suicide, or the refusal of medical treatment on religious grounds as aims.[9]
Missionary activities may only be performed by authorized members of registered religious groups and organizations. A group becomes ineligible to perform missionary activities if they have been banned under a court order for practicing extremism or terrorism, or have been liquidated. Foreign missionaries may only perform missionary activities after registering for a permit from a recognized religious organization.[9][10][11][12] Citizens are also required to report unauthorized religious activity to the government or face fines.[10]forein financing
As early as 2015, a first discriminatory law against certain religious communities had entered into force in Russia. They were asked to reveal their foreign sources of money. If any deadlines are not met, the dissolution is threatened.
Like the controversial law on non-governmental organizations of 2012, the law of 2015 recruited beneficiaries of foreign funds under general suspicion. Such consortia have had to submit a detailed financial report annually. They must also provide information on their management personnel and demonstrate that their activities comply with their statutes. -

Irina Anatoleyvna Yarovaya is Wladimir Putins combatant and is a deputy chairman of the state Duma and chairman of the State duma committee on security and counter corruption. She is responsible for already over 100 repressive laws in Russia called "Yarovaya laws". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irina_Yarovaya
She is described as fascinating woman with tactic intelligence, cleverness and "perniciousness" and it is sayed that she evokes antiallergic reactions with many women.
Be it the draconic anti-terror laws "Yarovaya Act" which e.g. are allowing arbitrary acts of executive organs and the antievangelism provisions or the Foreign agent law, which regulates tax exemptions for NGOs.

Even non-violent "extremist" activities - including criticism of the church or the elite - are now punishable by impisonment, as is the not-reporting of crimes, age of criminal responsibilty has been reduced to fourteen years.
Telecom companies are expected to store Internet data and telephone conversations for six months beginning from 2018, while metadata will be stored even for three years, which will make electronic communications more expensive. .... Internetuser are already afaid to express themselves in social networks, parents are afraid of their half-grown children, entrepreneurs are shaking of upcoming checks.

In the 16th century puritans were seen as the most "extreme" religions in the world. (not from me, see link below)
Puritan muslim are refering to them and JW as examples of "purify" the their religion, it would be interesting to compare the puritans from 16 centruy with JW, to see who would be more "extreme".CHRISTIANIY PURIFIED FROM CHRISTMAS

PURITAN MUSLIM VIEW
‘whoever imitates a people is one of them’1
Link: Christmas and paganisation of christiany - puritan Muslim view
https://www.islam21c.com/theology/173-christmas-and-the-paganisation-of-christianity/
Even though most of the West has immersed itself into the Christmas culture without questioning its origins or pagan connotations, the paganisation of the Christian faith has not gone unnoticed by all, rather we see in the past that Christmas was rejected by many Protestant groups during the 16th century, and in addition, Puritans of 17th century England and America banned the festival of Christmas as pagan. Oliver Cromwell also banned Christmas after the English Civil War due to the belief that it was a pagan belief which encouraged sin and immorality interpolated into the Christian faith. Christians such as Jehovah Witnesses continue to hold beliefs similar to the Puritans and reject the notion of Christmas altogether.
We also find that the process of secularization has caused Christmas in the past few years to lose all remnants of the Christian faith and has made it a secular holiday with paganistic practices.regardless of the taunts of liberal Muslims and non-Muslims who may call us ‘radicals’ and ‘fundamentalists’. To be fundamental is a part of Islām as ʿĀ’isha (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanha) narrates that the Prophet (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) said ‘Whoever innovates something in this matter of ours (Islām) that is not a part of it will have it rejected
Muslims, by the grace of Allāh, have been afforded a complete way of life which details that which is best and most beneficial for the entire human race.
So much similiarties Wow
