No one should be allowed to be cruel in the name of “religion”, and if the courts can shed a spotlight on abhorrent behavior then I’m all for it.
Even if the ruling is overturned it’s better to bring attention to the harmful behavior that these so-called “Christian” and “Charitable” organizations are causing while not paying taxes and hoping for the destruction of the Government.

Agreed. Try this simple test. Give your significant other a gift, and tell them that you love them.
Then make sure to explain that they don’t deserve it, and that you gave it to them because you are so wise and benevolent and you just love the effort they put forth.
Maybe someday, if they work hard enough, they will gain the privilege of the prospect of gaining your love in the truest sense.
Thats what JWs earn, not immortality, but the prospect of eternal life if they do enough for long enough and never make a mistake for all eternity.

This is not a case of light getting brighter, or some type of clarification in understanding an existing doctrine more fully. These are complete opposite teachings which means that the “locusts” have zero prophetic significance as previously taught.

i was told by several elders to not get a dog when i was looking for one in the 80s.
the end was close and we needed to focus on the preaching work.
i know some have pets but a lot don't.
I knew Dubs who had pets and Dubs who did not. Why? The reasons are varied. Some of the “friends” had allergies, some lived in places that did not allow pets, some were too busy.
The real issue that disturbed me was hearing Convention talks ( from an outline ) talking about Pets and how “Worldly” people ( destined for destruction) treated pets like family members. The warning was that pets can become your “God” and then you won’t be balanced, giving your devotion to the Governing Popes and their decrees. Not to mention the $$$ that you may spend on your Pet/God that should rightfully go into the Governing Pope’s retirement fund.

We had a CO directly contradict the Flock book by saying, “ If you associate with disfellowshipped relatives, you’ll be disfellowshipped too!!”
The Flock book does not teach that. Was this CO ranting, or did he simply let slip the unwritten “code red” of the GB??

when the doctrine regarding 1935 being the close of the calling was done away with in 2007, it was not unexpected to see the number rise.
over the next few years it went from around 8,500 to 10,500. this seemed to indicate that there were a couple of thousand people that may have felt they had the calling all along, but too shy to profess it.
for the 30 year period between the mid 1978 and 2007, parktakers had barely dropped.
The new partakers, at least a certain percentage, could be persons like myself who learned the TTATT and then embarked on an in-depth study of the Bible and realized that the scriptures hold out no earthly hope at all.
Then those persons were dumb enough to believe that they were somehow special and were being used by God to help cleanse the “one true religion” in all of human existence, thereby starting a chain of events that fed their own personal “persecution complex” leading to unavoidable consequences; that being existential crisis followed by disfellowshipping.
