a video will be posted later today where all the mysteries of god, the disgusting thing causing desolation, all the contradictions in the bible, why god in the old testament seemed so cruel, why was satan created if god is good, how is god love?

all of the prophecies jesus had foretold which were hidden and lost yet being fullfilled the entire time.

this is the good news that will then spread worldwide, and then the end will come.

I think EOM is brave for expressing his views. I want to watch the video!!!! It sounds as good as anything else i have heard being raised as a DUB. Just curious, did you smoke a bowl and read the Silmarillion? If you did just say so, its cool. I just hope Planet X is involved in all this!!! let us know when we can watch it. By the way there is a hermetic quality to life which is very interesting.

Do You Ever Doubt Your Efforts Are Futile?

...hello folks.... ...i've read countless of posts, ideas, opinions, etc here and i'm interested in your response.... ...there is a whole gamut of feelings here from individuals that are simply annoyed with the wt organization, to those that come off as hellbent on putting the org out of comission.... ...others yet seem to have made it their mission in life to eradicate the concept of god himself.... ...to any of these, what is your motivation?

and do you ever doubt that these efforts are futile?

do you feel that you posses the power/ability/means to change the convictions/faiths of the masses?

Also, I never feel that being honest and helping others is futile. Your question is confusing as well. Did you mean to ask " Do ever feel that you efforts are futile? " ? Asking if I have doubts about my efforts being futile makes me think you believe my efforts are futile.

Elephant, are you a mole? I feel that you could be. Do you report back to the WTBTS? Are you giving them information so that they can re-arrange their teachings to seem more lenient to all those beginning to have doubts? I won't judge you. i am just curious, honest. I see many people who improve their life by studying with JW's so I am not saying that EVERYTHING about the WTBTS is wrong. Really applying bible principles are helping people, plus support from a group. I have no issue with those things. My motives are a lot like Phizzy's. I definately do not want to undermine faith in a creator. There is no way that everything came into existence by accident. I would sooner believe that God was an alien of some sort before I would believe in no creator. My core issue is the legalistic and corporate attitude of the Society. With that attitude comes double standards/hypocrisy. To be fair no human, or group of humans can be hypocrisy free. So I am not nitpicking here. The problem with the society is the lack of real humility on the part of many in leadership positions. How can you admit to being fallible, yet demand absolute loyalty from the rank and file on every whim written in the literature, even though it may change in a few years or has no basis in scripture? That is the issue I want people to see. You can't have it both ways, demanding absolute obedience as if you are Christ, but saying you are not and that you make mistakes. I believe the Leaders are lacking in faith. They need to back up and punt. As humans when you are trying to do it all, you leave no room for God to help you. He won't make you let him help you. The WTBTS needs to start over. They also need a special issue printed that apologizes for every wrong committed by the Governing Body, past and present. Nothing ambiguous, no blaming the sheep for expecting what the GB said would come true. A true honest to God apology.

As far as continuing to come to this sight. I like the honest discussions. I am told in God's inspired word to " test all things ". So I will. Since I obey God as ruler rather than men, I will continue to look at all sides of every issue. No human being ( nobles or sons of men to whom no salvation belongs) will force me to do otherwise. Also, since I don't have all the answers, I can learn alot from others. The usual JW mindset is that everyone else needs to learn from me because i have the answers. Once you believe you know it all, you stop learning. Once you have convinced millions to follow you because you know it all, you either keep up appearences or humbly admit the reality.

Pushed to the point of contemplating suicide and hating life because of guilt, I woke up and stepped off the treadmill. Then the healing began. I tell any JW who mentions the word guilt, " If I wanted to feel guilty, I would become a Catholic ". This usually shuts down the conversation and make them think. I am not saying catholics really go around feeling guilty, but Dubs instantly make the connection of catholic=guilt in their heads. I tell them since I am a Christian, I don't do guilt anymore.I will keep an eye out for guit causing articles, and point them out to my family. I refuse to raise a child burdened with guilt because of ignorant men.

Snares of the Devil - Questioning the motives of those who pioneer

the wt for today, can't remember exactly what paragraph, stated the dangers of the tongue.

it went further to mention that we wouldn't want to question the motives of a sister who was appointed in the congregation as a pioneer.

there was even a picture to add emphasis.. who on earth questions that?

1,000 hours a year, just like Jesus said you should get! Pioneer meeting?! What a great bargin! 1000 hours a year for a 1/2 hour bi-annual meeting with a sales rep/CO. My poor wife ran herself into the ground to auxillary pioneer ( not as spiritual as a regular pioneer, no dinners for auxillary pioneers ) she said that the 15 minutes that she was allowed to be in the precense of the CO was worth it! So that extra 15 minutes for pioneers only must be ultra-spiritual! Of course we can't forget all the special dinners that pioneers get invited to. If you REALLY believed you were teaching people the truth, I can see the allure of pioneering. I also have to be honest, there are some peoples lives that are sooo bad that studying with a pioneer saves their lives. I think that is pretty rare, and saved for the motivating experience section of the yearbook. Of course, some people go to 12 step programs that incorporate priciples from the Bible and improve their lives, so being a JW isn't the only way to go. Just don't say that out loud or the love stops.

Was the bus still moving? That would make a huge difference. I could not tell from the video. If other passengers were in danger then that could change things. It looked like the bus was already stopped because someone was filming from the outside, yes, no? Sounds like it's time for a tax funded " Bus Marshal "! If you failed the physical for the Poe-poe and Mall-cop you can pull down 40 G's as a Mass Transit Security Enforcement Specialist!!! ( tazer provided )

Hitting her was uncalled for. It was excessive force. You can see from the video that there were about six seconds between her touching him and the uppercut. It was pre-meditated on his part. Self defense would have been her actually hurting him and a simultaneous defense/attack on his part. I would throw the book at this guy. Six seconds is an eternity when making decisions in a fight, he decided to hit her because he wanted to, not because he had to. He could have detained her easily enough in my opinion. Of course it is harder to neutralize someone without hurting them than most people think, it's not like on tv. He may not have any training to deal with an attack. Even so, he was in no real danger and should have let the police handle it. As a side point his technique is sloppy, and my grandma could have dodged that weak uppercut, so I can't really respect the bus driver.

Captain America and The Avengers!

does the wts oppose movies such as thor, captain america, and the avengers on the basis of thor/loki's godhood and captain america's patriotic bent?

or do they let artistic license slide for such movies?.

how about super hero movies in general?.

They do not approve of the Black Widow's skill set... but I do!!!! Seriously, I have not heard any negative talk in my area. Now Hunger Games was another story. There were Elders making it know that their children would not see it. I didn't pay too much attention to what eventually happened. They may have changed their minds after finding out what the movie was about. Avengers hasn't raised any flags that I know of. Of course all the Harry Potter ones are blacklisted, and the Twilight series is a no,no. Lord of the Rings is a toss up. I know of a couple C.O's who hate Avatar. You never know what will set them off, I prefer the Don't ask, don't tell movie policy. I thought Avengers was cool, my only complaint was that The Hulk didn't get enough screen time. I could watch him smash stuff for at least an hour..

Will Don Cameron have to write a new book?

in light of the 'new light' recently about the fds not being inspected until later (and not in 1919) does this mean don cameron will have to rewrite his 'captives of a concept'?

as most of his book is debunking this 'inspection of 1919'.
