Why does god kill children?
by Comatose ini was thinking about all the accounts in the bible that indicate god kills children as a punishment or teaching experience.
1. kills all of egypts firstborn sons, who were innocent kids who did nothing to him or his people, who had no control over the decisions pharoah made.
how many times have you read that account or thought about it without realizing the devastating pain dealt to all those parents, and remembered those were innocent kids?.

ADCMS, also 2 Tim 3:16 is specifically talking about the Torah, not the New Testament in any way. The NT was compiled and cannonized around 300 years after 2 Tim was even written. Most fundamentalist Christians reason that God's might makes it right-- sorry but might does not make right, even with God.

More bad chronology from the Watch Tower Society
by Jeffro init seems that more often than not, when the watch tower society says something about biblical chronology, they're probably wrong.
this seems to be the case even for uncontroversial matters!
insight on the scriptures volume 1, page 584 states (bold formatting added):.

Lars, everytime I see your long convoluted posts on chronology I immediately skip them...seriously. So please like AnnOMaly said, keep it short, sweet, and simple.

It's All Your Fault - 9.15.13 wt Study Ed
by breakfast of champions in"in a similar way, at the beginning of the 20th century, there were a number of wrong expectations among true christians regarding the last days.
(2 tim.
3:1) for instance, in the year 1914, some thought that their being taken to heaven was imminent.

by Bob_NC insome long years ago a circuit overseer told me that the area he was from had several former cos that had "left the road" as they call it and were just sitting on their laurels.
he said that they don't pioneer and some were irregular publishers.
a different co made a remark to the effect of "you think that servants or pioneers live a restricted life, cos are under the supervision of the service dept.

A former CO who then became a substitute CO in South Carolina got disfellowshipped a little over a year ago. He had an "emotional" relationship with a married pioneer sister in his congregation.

Has There Ever Been a Mass Disassociation?
by Emery ini was thinking of how powerful a mass disassociation exodus would be if there would be 1 day out of the year where hundreds or thousands disassociated themselves?
i was wondering if this has ever been done in the past?
i've read about the dublin apostasy and james penton's congregation having over 80 people da themselves...but other than that not much..
