villagegirl please re-read my original post. This thread is relating to the born-again practice of baptism being performed upon the non-anointed class. We are merely pointing out that the WT is not consistent with their very own theology. Baptism should not be performed on members of the other sheep if they are not born-again christians. Its symbolism is no different than partaking of the bread and the wine.

Baptism: Anointed Christian Ritual?
by Emery ini read a couple of scriptures yesterday and realized that baptism-- its symbolism and ritual-- should only be practiced by the anointed per jw theology.
according to these 2 scriptures:.
1 cor 12:13 - "for we were all baptized by one spirit so as to form one body--whether jews or gentiles, slave or free--and we were all given the one spirit to drink.".

Another Lie/Revisionist History in todays WT study!!
by BU2B ini caught yet another revisionist history deception in todays wt lesson.. .
here is a quote from paragraph 4 of the 2/15/13 study edition.
"decades before 1914, jehovah's worshippers declared to the nations that the end of "the appointed times of the nations" would come in that year and that the world would enter into an unequaled period of trouble.".

reslight2, thanks for some clarifications. This has been a little cloudy for me as I have read conflicting information with regards to Russell's definition of Armageddon. I have to agree with AndDontCallMeShirley that you have used a lot of speculative words for arguing what Russell had in mind with chronology. He was the Faithful Slave and The Watchtower when he was alive. Everything published up until October 31, 1916 were his direct words and ideas.

@Data Dog
I understand your frustration. Baptisms made after pentacost 33 CE would include and require the holy spirit. Nothing in scripture indicates that baptism has reverted back to anything less. It is a born again ritual.

Prologos this sounds reasonable but what scriptures back up the idea that the disciples were originally baptizing outside of the body of Christ? Also what scriptures show that baptism in the first century contained 2 separate meanings or hopes? I can see the baptisms of John the Baptist being evidence to this but the Society themselves say all those in the 1st century were anointed by holy spirit, before and after Jesus.

How on earth can the Watchtower baptize prospects of the great crowd and yet deny the partaking of emblems? They go hand in hand! The very ritual of baptism pertained only to the anointed christians of the 1st century. What kind of explanation has the Watchtower given to say that the symbol of baptism isn't related to being born-again? An anointed practice, practiced upon the non-anointed--WTF? I feel this is a huge blunder which hasn't really been touched upon here.

Rebuttals:"Wait on Jehovah"
by Emery inok i think most of you at some point have come across the apologetic saying "wait on jehovah" from jws whenever an injustice occurs in the organization.
many have also used this expression to abandon evidence against the "truth".
this has easily become one of my biggest pet peeves now since speaking to others about ttatt.

Ok I think most of you at some point have come across the apologetic saying "Wait on Jehovah" from JWs whenever an injustice occurs in the organization. Many have also used this expression to abandon evidence against the "Truth". This has easily become one of my biggest pet peeves now since speaking to others about TTATT. It is often repeated ad nauseum. This statement is both a conversation and thought stopper used to alleviate the cognitive dissonance operating in their minds. I find the saying to be cheap and inconsistent according to their very own standards (Holy Trinity being a mystery).
What are some great rebuttals to this expression? Thanks!

elders wife swapping question
by unstopableravens ini hear of these stories of elders swapping wives, i remember when i was young hearing of three elders in florida doing this and getting dfed.
my question is this how is it possible to bring this up in conversation?
it seems impossible, how can there be multi elders that know each other willing and the wives?

@comitteechairman
This occured about 3-4 years ago in a spanish congregation located in South Carolina. Y es the former elder has since been divorced and reinstated. He ended up marrying the sister who he swapped for. They are now regular pioneers again. The Lord sure works in mysterious ways

Great thread Doug, I wanted to add that the reasonings and logic used to only allow 4 gospels into the NT cannon was hellacious.
