she said, "maybe something has changed, or maybe it's your influence that i see things differently now, but a lot of those talks sounded more threatening than anything.
not loving, not really hopeful, just threatening.
Boy oh Boy, I hope my wife gets the same vibe from them..
SHe has a tendency to cherry pick all of the points she liked while tunining out what conflicts with her favourable impression of the program/publications.
She already sees a lack of love, and how teachings change at the drop of a hat.. Hopefully she will pick up on the overall tone.
I am happy for you DOC, hopefully this is the first step to freedom for her.

i was inspired to write this after listening to a recent podcast of the thinking atheist by seth andrews.
as many of you know, seth was a devout christian who not only loved contemporary christian music but was one of the hosts of a popular morning show on kxoj in tulsa, oklahoma in the 1990s.
When I used to go out in service with a guy that is now in bethel, we used to listen to rock like Rush, The Tragically Hip, Audiosave, and others while driving around doing calls. Also, I sometimes hear cars pulling into the KH parking lot blaring Hard Rock inside their cars. This one sister had her windows down blaring the Goo Goo Dolls as she pulled in for Sunday service lol.
On the flip side, some uber dubs listen to the KingDumb Maladies all the time, even when sitting at home, doing chores, or running errands. To me it sounds like tinny, piped in North Korea State television music, praising the Dear leader. Plus this new songbook is really much worse than the old one. I actally liked a couple in that one. Now Jesus is never praised.
that is about the gist of what this book is.
it is chuck full of bad advice to young people because it is written under the direction of old men who are surrounded by yesmen and ass kissers, who have a delusional relationship with an imagined deity causing them to have all kinds of phobias which are transfered onto those who read this publication uncritically.
phobias about the world being under an evil satanic control, masturbation, school sports, worldy friends, cell phones, internet information, etc.... guilt, shame, and death threats all rolled into one book to bend the young mind into submission to the corporation's interest (free labor).. just what a teenagers needs(sic) a book written by delusional old men who don't give a shit about them and want to take control over their lives for the finacial benefit of the corporation they are ceos of.
It is sick. Im sure it f^&*&ed me up big time. Pretty hard to be good socially when you are forced to study guilt inducing, confidence destroying, controlling shit like that.

What do you fine people think is the real reason why, in the absence of food service, JWs are told to not leave the building at lunch? My hunch is it is a barometer to see how well the R and F JWs respond to orders. Are they "obedient in least". Every year some still go eat in downtown Rochester, NY where my DC is held. These are the topic of gossip and criticism from "loyal" dubs. How could they disobey the FDS clear directions? This is a big deal to them.
Do you think this is the real reason or something else?

recently i attended a jw funeral after a 12 year fade.
i did not bring a bible to the talk.
i found it somewhat odd and distracting to the flow of the talk at how much time was spent by all the jws looking up scriptures in the bible that they have all have read 1,000s of times before.
Has anyone else notice that at the DC they give the least time to look up scriptures? One time a brother behind me slammed down his Bible in frustration because he couldnt keep up and audibly said OH WHY EVEN BOTHER! LOL

i think by doing this i oppose the w.t and have woken up many sleeping witnesses and even inspired them to think for themselfs and listen to that voice of reason inside them.. but now that voice of reason is awoken there is no longer any sleep no more dreaming and slowly have discoverd a new life of lies and illusion .holly shit the whole world , the goverments and the newspapers and advertising is feeding me the same s...t only different lies and a differnt illusion than the watchtowers.

It is amazing isnt it how not only the WT is a deception, but current events are all reported with a spin, or outright lies, history has been sanitized and revised in many cases, and the more you dig, the more you realize most things are a deception on one level or another. I believe this is because people crave 2 things, money and power. Keeping the little guy in the dark is the most effective way for the powerful to consolidate more and more of those two things, at our expense. The rabbit hole goes down deep my friend. NOTHING that happenes is as it appears on the surface, or happens for the reasons they say. Look at wars for example.. Only decades after the fact do the real reasons they started come out. When they start they all start with a LIE to get the people all whipped up with patriotism, and fully supporting any action taken. IE USS Maine, Gulf of tonkin etc.. Too many lives have been lost, and ruined over lies. Unfortunately this will continue as it always has, fustrating those of us who see through at least a layer or two of the lies.
I sometimes have to disconnect from it all and try to enjoy what really matters. Go for a hike, visit a secluded beach, go fishing, whatever relaxes you. Enjoy nature, make good true friends, quality over quantity. Maybe even find a soul mate who loves you for you. I dont know what thats like but it must be nice lol..
