Dear Son,

I've been reflecting on the spiritual inheritance I have recieved from grandma. I appreciate her love and effort to help her 7 children to learn about Jehovah and how to serve him.

Your father and I have been able to pass that inheritance on to you. We are very thankful that you have accepted it (3 Jn 4) I pray that "you continue in the things you have learned and were PERSUADED to believe" (1 Ti 3:15) That you deepen your love for Jehovah through your daily bible reading and personal study. So that you love Jehovah with your whole heart and with your whole mind and with your whole soul and with your whole strength" (luke 10:27) That you continue to "endure fully with patience and joy" (col 1:11) Know that hapiness can come from freely giving. That you encourage others and be encouraged by them. Always humbly look to Jehovah for guidance and wisdom in all you do.

So now its your turn, along with Lisa to pass that inheritance on to your girls. I look forward to when we can enjoy our inheritance fully after this old world is gone. See you at the buffet Saturday (she means the A$$embly) Want to take in all that Jehovah has prepared for us.

WOW. She has seen me be stressed out somewhat lately (due do knowing TTATT and being "stuck in") and she thinks a letter like that will help. I just feel bad because, in her heart and mind that was encouraging and heartfelt, when all I see is a download of cult guilt and propaganda. She is a model JW. Pioneer, gets up at 5:00 am daily to do her "personal study" eat sleeps and breathes JWbroadcasting etc. She was born in going all the way back to the 50s! I have accepted that I will lose my parents one day, and as a result feel I have grown somewhat distant. Every conversation is laced with dub propaganda, and I prefer not to regularly subject myself to that and its subsequent FOG techniques. This letter upset me at first, but now it just saddens me that this is what my relationship with my parents has become. Most moms love their sons no matter what. Even ax murderers on death row who have lost everyone still can count on their mothers unconditional love. Must be nice.

i think we've all noticed a ton of newbe's these past months.

one part of escaping or thinking about escaping the jw's is coming to terms with what you believe now and/or what direction you are leaning towards.. here is a site that has a quick quiz that may be of some worth or just for fun.

Russia is correct to rule them extremist. However this is counter productive as it just feeds into the persecution complex of the cult members. Soviet Russia sent JWs to Siberia and they came out even stronger. Persecution actually strengthens the cult.

2034 is going to be a huge letdown for the dubs

i've seen a few postings of a possible "next date" for dubs of 2034. based on an article they published comparing the last days to the days of noah.

preaching for 120 years.

however, i noticed a little tidbit from wiki about age:.

I dont think they want to highlight 2034 just yet because that would give JWs an excuse to slack off for a few years in the meantime, even enjoy the debauchery of the world for a few years and then return. They must maintain a constant fear that the end can come anytime. As the year approaches they may hype it up to eke a little more out of whatever masochists are left in the fold.

well, i told my wife over the weekend i was going to go back school to finish my degree.

she is 100% supportive of it!

apparently she doesn't think higher education is so evil either.. since my former major was computer programming and that was in the late 1990's, i was told i'd have to retake a bunch of classes since times have changed.

The guy in the video who turns down the promotion does it because he knows his wife will nag him that he misses meetings. That is the situation for many of us stuck in by marriage. When I skip, I'm happy, have no anxiety, but when the wife gets home I get guilt tripped and nagged about not going.

But when I go, my wife is happy but I am miserable. No peace either way! It really sucks to be in this situation

Thats dead on Absolom. I resonate with your comment. So much of what people do is because of peer pressure. Maybe the girl rejected the college brochures because of pressure from her parents or siblings. I feel the same way about missing meetings. Either I am stressed because of sitting there listening to vile hateful propaganda, or Im stressed because my wife is pissed off and home life sucks. What a sh#tty situation to be in. Sometimes I just want to join the coast guard or something and run from my life.
