  so jws have been spreading this picture around claiming it supports the roman torture stake belief.

  this is the statue of marsyas the satyr, a greek mythical creature.

  he lost a challenge to apollo and was flayed.

  So JWs have been spreading this picture around claiming it supports the Roman torture stake belief. Does it? This is the statue of Marsyas the satyr, a Greek mythical creature. He lost a challenge to Apollo and was flayed. Then his skin was nailed to a tree. They are always showing statues of pagan gods of Easter and the trinity. If you were consistent wouldn't this show evidence that the stake was of pagan origin as well?

  no 'respectable' organization would.

  that doesnt mean they are doing anything to prevent it though.

  Scully they probably would equate the Watchtower with "Jehovah" and say don't let that one person ruin your personal relationship with god.

  I think I've heard them use the illustration of the illogical decision of a husband divorcing his wife because his boss is giving him a hard time. I think it would be logical though if the boss was sleeping with his wife of the boss was a nagging controlling father but I digress.

  The Watchtower would never claim that they want child molesters in their congregations. No 'respectable' organization would. That doesn't mean they are doing anything to prevent it though. They have instead created a breeding ground for it through their policies.
  

  
  Imagine you have a house. In that house are piles of waste and garbage are everywhere. You can put up signs and publicly declare that you are against rats, roaches and disease. You might say how horrible they are and even educate people on avoiding them. You might try to eliminate every pest you see but if you don't eliminate the source and clean house they will just keep coming back.

  how many people existed before the biblical flood?

  in the bible from adam to noah they have around 1600-1700 years.

  adam had at least three children (one dies and not counting the daughters) in a 930 year life span.

  I may never have woken up if the watchtower didn't insist the Flood story was historically accurate. I have a feeling I'm not alone in this.

  I remember going to my great aunts catholic funeral. I was very disappointed no one took the time to talk about her life. It was all catholic mass traditions.

  My dad is now the only Jw in my family. I am technically inactive. I am concerned about when he dies. I don't know if I should have a typical Jw ceremony to fulfill his wishes or ignore them. They are only going to advertise the religion to the family. I assume the burden would be laid on me or my dads catholic sister. Then again he might have made arrangements to keep me out of his funeral.

  What would/will you do when a Jw family member dies?
