the following news interview was reported in the english language version of pravda.ru on 8 october 2014.... the un security council unanimously, which is a rare occasion during the recent years, adopted a resolution on the fight against terrorism.

pravda.ru interviewed executive secretary of the presidium of the academy of geopolitical problems, araik stepanyan, about old and new threats in the middle east and in the whole world.. why did russia support the united states?

not that long ago, there was heated debate on the usas interference in the internal affairs of syria and ukraine.

The statement coincided with the following case relating to Jehovah's Witnesses being heard in the Russian Federation Supreme Court:

"On October 8, 2014, the Russian Federation Supreme Court will hear the appeal of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Samara regarding the liquidation of their Local Religious Organization (LRO). Earlier, a lower-court decision declared the Samara LRO to be extremist. If the Supreme Court does not reverse the ruling, the more than 1,500 Witnesses living in Samara may face serious consequences." - JW.ORG

The UN Security Council unanimously, which is a rare occasion during the recent years, adopted a resolution on the fight against terrorism. Pravda.Ru interviewed executive secretary of the Presidium of the Academy of Geopolitical Problems, Araik Stepanyan, about old and new threats in the Middle East and in the whole world.

“Why did Russia support the United States? Not that long ago, there was heated debate on the USA’s interference in the internal affairs of Syria and Ukraine. In fact, the United States wants to destroy Russia by the hands of Ukrainian fascists. Yet, Russia supported the States. Why so?”

“Russia has its list of terrorist organizations. Some of them, included on our list, are not included on the list of the United States. They consider them fighters for freedom and democracy and support some of them. Russia calls for the coordination of databases of terrorist organizations, so that they are clearly considered as terrorist organizations for the whole world. In this case, it would be possible to catch members of such organizations and bring them to trial, rather than simply bomb sovereign states. Russia voted for coordinated legal international action.”

“Is the current bombing of ISIS in Syria a start of the operation that will then proceed to the destruction of Bashar Assad?”

“ISIS has everything. It has members from Jehovah’s Witnesses, from archaic Judaism, from the criminal world … That is, they built a fine, universal and simple ideology. The main idea of it is the false understanding of the end of the world. To be saved, one needs to unite and go to the end of the world together. In another world, they will have beautiful women, etc.”

"politicians usually promise a moon and not deliver to their promises, this is disappointing to the voters who have high expectations," he said.. mr mashilipa said believers needed to seek god's kingdom which he said never fails, unlike human governance.. this year's conversion attracted a historic attendance of more than 40,000 people from across the five districts in the province namely; ndola, kitwe, luanshya, mufulira, kalushi and chambishi.. gathered under the theme 'keep seeking first god's kingdom', witnesses filled the stadium and those who could not find seats monitored proceedings from outside.

A TOP Jehovah's witnesses' world leader has bemoaned politicians' failure to fulfill campaign promises.

Stephen Lett, who gave a keynote speech at the on-going convention held at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola, said politicians needed to meet the aspirations of people who vote them into public offices.

Meanwhile, conversion overseer John Mashilipa has urged fellow witnesses to respect the government of the day, obedient and continue remaining non-partisan.

In the keynote address streamed live from Solwezi District in the North-Western Province, Mr Lett, one of the seven members of the world governing body said electorates expected much from the people they vote for.

"There is need for politicians to fulfill their promises to their voters once they assumed power," he said.

He observed that most politicians failed to fulfill promises to their voters who had high expectations.

"Politicians usually promise a moon and not deliver to their promises, this is disappointing to the voters who have high expectations," he said.

Mr Mashilipa said believers needed to seek God's Kingdom which he said never fails, unlike human governance.

This year's conversion attracted a historic attendance of more than 40,000 people from across the five districts in the province namely; Ndola, Kitwe, Luanshya, Mufulira, Kalushi and Chambishi.

Gathered under the theme 'Keep seeking first God's Kingdom', witnesses filled the stadium and those who could not find seats monitored proceedings from outside. About 1,000 witnesses got baptised.

Despite the multitude of witnesses, order and calmness charicterised the event that had four sections running simultaneously in Bemba, English,Chinese and American sign language .
