it seems like to me the majority of people who are in the truth, are were in the truth was a result of either a family member are a friend witnessing to them and not many seem to have been found in the door to door work.. from my years of associating with the borg i cannot recall many coming in the truth from the door to door work.. how were you sucked in?

for me it was my aunt who has now even though i am not disfellowshipped decided to write me out of her will to the tune of about $150,000.00 (maybe i should hang around a couple more years)dont think i will.. please respond .

PROBLEM!

I have a problem with guys who say "No problem." The phrase has outlasted its usefulness, and, more alarming, it has almost completely replaced "You're welcome."
"Thank you for carrying those ten bodies downstairs and putting them in the lime pit with all the dead puppies."
"No problem."
And, of course, there are the really cool guys who abbreviate it:
"No prob!"
These are the same dipshits who say "bod" for body and "bud" for buddy.
And let's not forget the very special, very precious ones who can't resist saying "No problemo!"
Don't you love these guys? "No problemo!" Same ones who say "Correcta-mundo," and "Exacta-mundo." Mock foreign.
And "moi"! Of course, moi being a real word makes the person seem even more pretentious; same category as the "ciao" crowd.
I could really do without non-Italians who lay a worldly, continental "Ciao," on me and then wander off to hitchhike home. They're right up there with the freckle-faced, redheaded lads who belch up huge, moist beer clouds in my face and then insist on calling me "amigo."

Embarrasing Moments

just so certain ladies do not feel alone in cringedom i will confess my red-cheekers !.

i was a well-developed 15 yr old getting too volupteous for my school uniform ( ok too fat then) and the zip had bust on my only school skirt.

my mum replaced it using an old zip from another garment which happened to be quite a bit longer than a normal skirt zip.an unmarried brother came to visit one morning and was sat in our living room having a cuppa while i was frantically getting ready for school.

I damn near wet my pants, you guys. I'm trying really hard not to laugh too loud so I don't wake the neighbors.

This is the best thread I've read in ages. Thank you, Free. You are so hilarious! And thanks to everyone else for sharing your mortifying experiences. I'll try to dredge up a few of my own. This is great.

Suzi Mayhem Outdoes John Cleese

a critique of suzi mayhem's theory of god .

i thought, when suzi first posted this, that it was a joke something like john cleese's classic "brontosaurus theory" skit in a monty python episode.

but mr. "dark clouds" has sort of asked me to critique it as if it were a serious theory, so here goes.. i'll address this to suzi, but suzi dear, don't take this too seriously.

Why all the hostility towards Suzi? She's a great gal- and very intelligent.

She has the cojones to share her ideas and she gets ripped on. Yet, she takes the criticism and gives it right back. That's commendable in my book. Did you expect her to turn away with her tail between her legs? Was that the reaction you were hoping for?

I read the entrance to the board you made, and have to say I was not at all impressed with your "idea"

Better pack it in, Suzi Seriously, I don't get the vibe from Suzi that she needs the approval of the masses. She was simply sharing an idea she had. This idea opened the floodgates of criticism. I felt sorry for her, but I didn't say anything. Quite honestly, I didn't want the crap flung in my direction that comes with defending someone with a different viewpoint that happens all too often here. I'm sorry, Suzi.

Keep on sharing your ideas, please. I find them refreshing.
