Are You Raising An Introvert?
by darth frosty inits not easy being an introvert in an extrovert worldespecially when youre a kid.
it is even more difficult if none of the adults in the kids life recognize that the child is an introvert.
this doesnt happen only when the childs parents are extroverts, but also with introverted parents who have never understood their own introverted nature.. .

I had seen this thread before but forgot about it until now. I'm also an introvert, and it makes it so hard to be a JW (still in). Meetings are okay, but assemblies are hard on me; I dread to think about spending nine hours in a crowded and loud place. Thanks for the article.

I love your sense of humour, Outlaw. I also thought the same thing when I saw "segrated".

@King Solomon, like 15 years, but I'm still in. I can't get out yet. I think I've seen that book before somewhere.

I was also put off by a speaker at the district convention saying that independent thinking and reading your Bible without WT aids was bad. The indiscriminate use of "The Truth" several times in publications and meeting comments was also something that set off the alarm bells in me. For example, the prologue on page three of the Keep Yourselves in God’s Love book has the word “truth” appear eight times. I also wondered why the brothers had to be reminded that they were in “The Truth” all the time. If it were really the truth, then there should be no reason for doubt, and the truth has nothing to fear from.

Like some other poster (I can't remember what he or she exactly said, but here's the gist) said, be glad you you're out now than live a lie the rest of your life. It's better to be out now than spend another 10 days, months or years in. I know it's hard to get over that you were lied to, but it also can't be healthy to harbor all that hate. Some take longer than others to get over this, and some never do.

When did the religion become a cult?
by Hermano inam i wrong in believing it was rutherford who took the religion from strange to cult?
under russell they had some strange beliefs but strange beliefs don't make a cult.
wasn't it rutherford who established and reinforced the hierarchichal structure and demanded absolute loyalty?.

Thanks, Black Sheep. It's sad some dubs automatically close their minds when you show them old literature. "Brother, that's old light". What they fail to see is that a religion rotten to its core cannot bear good fruits later on. If only they saw the bizarre claims in the Studies in the Scriptures series. Has anyone had success showing "old light"?
Matthew 7:18 "A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit."

Black Sheep, where is that article from? It does depend on the definition of cult you want to use. Mostly it's used derogatorily.

I just so happened to read about this yesterday on Randall Watters' website http://www.freeminds.org/. Click here for the article. The medical research is what caught my attention. "Years ago, LeBec and Barbet had concluded that a person hung by his arms overhead would suffocate in a manner of minutes, due to the inability of the lungs to expand and contract in such a position." And yes, it doesn't matter how he died but that He provided a ransom for all who believe in Him.
1 Timothy 2:3-6—For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time."
John 3:14-18—"And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

Was There Ever A Poster Here That Realy Was a Watchtower Spy?
by minimus insince some believe that watctower regularly observes this site, did you ever know of a watchtower double agent here?.

I think there must be some spies. I had my district convention last week and the speaker mentioned what I already knew from reading here. Things like brothers learning Biblical Hebrew and Greek in order to check the accuracy of the NWT. He said it was not necessary and that it would be a waste of time. He also mentioned brothers not feeling satisfed with the FDS' "spiritual food at the proper time" (gag) and having to supplement it with outside sources. Speaker: "Brothers, there's no need to do research, the society has done all of it for us; we have the Isaiah books, Revelation, the new Jeremiah book, the insight book, etc. Independent group studies were mentioned too. He also said some witnesses have created websites, forums and have conference calls online. Six Screens of the Watchtower?? That's what came to mind, and the only one I know of.
