I have looked into the cookbooks mentioned and if I get a good financial aid package this year, I might order some of them with my textbooks on Amazon.com. So far they're on my wish list.

jehovah being our father and the organization being our spiritual mother!

One of them said that he still had the same problems but that at least he was happier now. Heck, I've never liked field service because I find it ineffective. Ziddina: I'm glad I go to a foreign language congo; it makes it easier to zone out and not pay attention. How do I pass the time? I read the Bible [without WT goggles on] and have my mag or book open to keep wandering eyes away. The diary in the form of PM's is a good idea. I'm going to print this out, no joke. Everyone here has given excellent advice except for the meth cooking, lol. The girlfriend advice is tempting, very tempting. I liked everything that sounded simple like the tortilla pizza.
The meat thermometer is a must (my mother doesn't use one). I can't believe I forgot about that! I will also definitely get a crockpot and freezer bags because it sounds like I'm going to have a lot of leftovers.
Sometimes I also think about buying a meal plan, and it wouldn't be so expensive because I would only go to the dining hall for a heavy lunch, but I'd rather save my money.

00DAD- I get where you are going with this. You are right about me not being fully deprogrammed yet. Right now I'm in a vulnerable state where I need to reexamine my beliefs and worldview. When we were JWs we were told what and what not to think. We couldn't speak our minds and doubts lest we be labeled weak [spiritually]. We were all given the same to answer to preach, study the WT publications, and pray more along with waiting on Jehovah.
BTW, abusive men are automatically disqualified as elders anyways. So if he did that would only prove he shouldn't be an elder.
He swears, although not as much as he used to before he became an elder. Yet, no one in my family tells on him. Can profanity be considered verbal abuse? Funnily enough, the secret elder manual doesn't consider profanity a sin unless it involves obscenity. Do I care if he loses his 'privilege'? NO! Not anymore.
I only have to play WT's silly game for two more years until I graduate and get my own place. Can I handle it? I hope so...
