what is the dumbest thing you've been reproved/chided/df'd for?
by rather be in hades ini'm a big science nerd and i remember when we were going over the creator book, that the big bang doesn't necessarily prove there is no god.. i said this comment during book study and the conductor's jaw dropped.
everyone was pretty uncomfortable and it didn't help that he ct me off as i was explaining the red shift and mom wasn't too happy about all that.
i had to do a lot of bible research and write some nonsense about how the big bang was not reality or some sort...ugh.. .

I'm still forced to go to meetings and service while putting a fake smile and pretending everything's okay. I can't stomach it and fear getting sick. Denial and repression only get you so far. I can't move out yet because of financial reasons. I will never forget this...

Trying to talk to my mom - really discouraged, need help.

i'm at my wits end.. here's some background:.
i grew p in a congregation in california, i'm not a born in, though i was raised in it from 5 - about 20. arond 20 i pretty mch faded out, bt the emotional ups and downs were jst all too much.

Say someone asked you a question at work or in FS and that you want to give a good response. Take it easy and do one topic at a time. Only ask questions and let her soak it in. Did you print the news article about chemicals buried in Ulster? Show her where in their own literature they condemn those that contaminate the earth. Say you've kept the article to yourself since late 2011 because it shocked you. True story: I was googling (not apostate material because I was still in) for WT farms pictures online and that's how I found it. My curiosity and looking into the 'Studies in the Scriptures' series also helped me wake up. Google Books and archive.org is all I have to say.

by HappyOutsideTheBox ina 25 year old relative of mine was being stalked last week by an older woman.
the police were involved and the perpetrator arrested.. as it was the convention and his uber zealous, hypocritical mother- aka my sister, was going to be absent from home i called to see how he was doing.
in the course of the conversation i referred to 50 shades of grey' (the stalker had fantasised about him being mr grey).

Jehovah, the God of Parking Lots
by 00DAD inthis idea was brought up on another thread today, but i thought this particular angle deserved it's own thread.
have you ever noticed that jws that have completely swallowed the kool-aid are really whacked in their thinking when it comes to interpreting life's events.

Or how about when a JW wasn't given days off to go to the assembly and he or she quit his or her job? I've heard this one many times before. Then they would find a better job after a while that paid more.
