i received word from a friend who has spoken with infonex that all shell accounts at cyberpass including h2o's will be terminated this coming wednesday, february 7, 2001. all information on our site will be wiped clean on that date.
H20 was the first place I found on the net back in Jan 1997 when I first typed in "Jehovah's Witnesses" in a search engine. I was at that time a "Hurting" Witness, lonely, doubting, wanting someone to listen when I reached out. I desperately needed a listening ear at that time,I needed some caring and reassurance, but also, some truthful answers. So I wrote to Liberal Elder. He never bothered to return an answer, and I knew by that, he was not a really caring individual, he was just out to serve his personal agenda. More of what the WTBTS is full of, just in another direction!
Over the years, I observed that H20 was mainly a fighting arena, not my cup of tea at all. Although we have received much good information from posts there, alot of erroneous info has come through that medium, too. And I don't think "Jehovah's will" has anything to do with that place. May it rest in peace. Simon's board is a MUCH better place!

Supporting the WBTS ( even if you sincerely believe it ) is not allowed , that is viewed as abuse of free thinking and speech.Do that and you will be ridiculed and questioned.
I beg to differ here. Anyone is welcome, even if they support the organization. They just must be open-minded enough to tolerate opposing views. I don't think ridicule is the answer--KNOWLEDGE is.
Anyone open to learning and discussing without being hateful and vitriolic is welcome here in my opinion.

thank you one and all for the nice welcome after i posted yesterday.. i already feel like one of you.
i am so sorry as i have read some of the other posts of so many people who have been hurt in deep ways by the brothers, and although i can understand that a little, i can't understand why more effort isn't made to try to correct the situtation.
i could never undersatand why people were so concerned about going from house to house to visit someone who really doesn't want you there in the first place, and then neglect some brother or sister who whould really appreciate a friendly visit.
Another bit of good advice: Don't appear so needy for love.. because others sense that and they back away. Needy people tend to be possessive and controlling in relationships, and women HATE that. When you work on yourself, and learn to feel good about who you are, and aren't so needy, then love will find it's way to YOU.

well guys sorry i haven't participated much lately, i've been really busy.
but, i do have a question that i would really appreciate all of your input on.. it is no secret that young people are leaving jws faster and faster.
it is no secret that most jws are disappointed, and hurt by lack of prophecy fulfillment.. so here's what i was thinking: i'm going to post some very personal thoughts on what *i* think they need to do in order to stop the loss of almost 50,000 disfellowshipped and probably 4x that to inactivity.
Let's look at this realistically. Changing their practices and beliefs changes the ORGANIZATION and what it stands for. As Simon is saying, the entire foundation of this religion is on shifting sand, and you know what the Bible says about that. "A house built on sand will not stand."
There is no sense changing a few rules to make it better, when it's very base is of bad materials! BTW, I would NEVER GO BACK.

this is my first time on this board.
i have been a jw for over 40 years but currently am very discouraged and not very active.
i served at bethel for 4 years, 1963-67, spent most of my time at the kindom farms, s.lansing, ny.
I served as an elder and P.O. for many years. I had speaking and work assignments on the circuit and district level. I invited often by other congregations to give public discourses and I had many, many friends. Once I stopped going out in service and my meeting attendance became less than exeplarary you would think that I have the plague. There is even a rumor going around the circuit now that I am df'd.The C.O. visited our congregation this week and not a word. You would think that he would at least be interested in knowing why I am now inactive. Not a word. He and one of the elders called on another brother who stopped going to meetings even before I did but they never came to talk to me. Not a word. And as for the 'friends' that I served so long? Not a word.

Believe me, they KNOW why you left.. they just aren't ready to face the truth for themselves! That's why they don't speak with you. You can bet that deep down, they KNOW. Hugs to you!

Your daughter reminds me of myself at her age, lol! I never did smoke, use drugs, or drink much.. but I sure could sneak out and stay out until all hours! Freedom called.. lol. My own daughters were so close in age, they would aid and abet one another in teenage shenanigans. Those years were NOT fun! Especially as I was a single mom trying to cope with it all, lol.
