  I, for one, agree with Simon. When I posted my answer above, I was being honest, not sarcastic. I really WAS reminded of some fun times at those places. I was raised around Branson and SDC, in a place where old-fashioned values still means something. Ahhah, maybe I'm dense and you didn't even mean it that way. Haven't read all your answers here yet to find out, but I just wanted to clarify that as far as I'm concerned, you AND your posts are just as welcome here as any of us!

  Does anyone else find this strange?

  venus williams, the jw tennis star is at the olympics where she won a gold medal.

  she has her picture in the news carrying the american flag.. all i can say is.....huh?

  why is it perfectly okay for her to engage in nationalistic activities without censure?

  Perhaps Venus doesn't have a "Bible-trained conscience?"

  Perhaps she just knows the the GB is full of cow-dung and it's a carefully chosen way to show the hypocrites for what they are?

  How many of us browbeat our children into embarrassing themselves at school, by not saluting the flag and standing for the National Anthem, for the cause of showing loyalty to Jehovah? How many of us went through that ourselves in school? Only to watch this SELF-PROFESSED Jehovah's Witness MOUTH the words to the National Anthem while she stood on that podium and also ran with that flag that we were told not to worship? And yes, RHW is RIGHT. Any USUAL JW who was not wealthy and famous would have been df'd just for GOING to the Olympics and participating. Anyone who does't see the blatant hypocrisy in the GB's NON ACTIONS against this girl is deliberately wearing blinders!

  I hear ya, OTHG, I remember when I was in the "limbo" stage. Not ready yet to actually get the heck out of Dodge, but not wanting to go to meetings either! Time will help resolve everything. Glad you're still here, though!
