Maybe we should all lay down the Ayn Rand crack pipe and start reading George Orwell?
I expect Terry to show up soon and kick my ass.
i'm having trouble getting behind the idea of making rich people pay more taxes just because they have more.. aside from the obvious: "i'm not rich so lets tax them instead of me.
" the three reasons i hear most often are:.
1: they may have "earned" their wealth but they don't deserve it!.

I entered a higher tax bracket when I got married. If I have to pay my share of taxes (which I don't mind doing) so should the corporations.
I am totally sick of this Orwellian funk permeating my country.

thought i'd offer something to distract everyone from jesus freak trolls, chemtrails and political debate threads.
not that those aren't entertaining... .

my wife's 93 year old grandfather was just diagnosed with leukemia.
he and his wife go to a non denominational christian church.
when the doctor told him that he needed chemotherapy, he just said to the doctor, "i don't need any of that!
There's a great saying: "God wants spiritual fruit and not religious nuts." I think your wife's grandfather knows the difference.
election year is approaching.
are we ready for the political campaigns?
for those who vote, does it really matter whether we vote democrat or republican?.
The libs had their chance with the Tea Partiers and blew it. I like Bill Maher but let's not forget he is subject to his own biases even as we all are. Having said that, I only went to a couple of meetings because I felt some of them might be too close to the edge and I couldn't tell which direction the movement was going.

Who did you quote, BB?
in english we read from left to right, but in hebrew they read from right to left.. now the tetragrammaton yhwh (yahweh) we read god's name in the english from left to right, but is this correct?
should we not be reading the name from right to left?
if we did this the pronunciation would it not be in the opposite direction?
Very interesting. Thanks oppostate.

BB, I know. I was just kidding. That's my problem with Dems/Libs; they always fold under pressure.
