I am not ready to close our borders yet, (almost, but not quite there) but I do think that we should do something about the illegal aliens. I also think that they should not be given a free ride on the public back. And they should have to learn English as a second language.

Should America Start Closing the Borders?
by pettygrudger in.
my hubby & i had a debate tonight, so i'm kinda taking a poll..... my hubby says we should stop immigrations and start closing up the borders - except in cases of political asylum or a family member.

If you are a true believer, you may unconsciously make things happen so that they agree with your chart.
Fox,
I can see your point. The power of suggestion is a strong force. But I think that most people into astrology would disagree with you.

astral projection

Robyn,
as far as science can tell it is impossible that stars have any influence on humans. also there are no statistics proving astrology.
Realist,
Did I say differently? I agree, but I still don't dismiss it.

I had pointed out to me once that my profound disbelief in astrology was simply a metaphysical response of my latent skeptisim carried by all Gemini's being exacerbated by Leo entering Taurus.
That cleared things up for me.
OMG, that is hilarious.

Realist,
I have no opinion regarding astrology. For the most part, I have no opinion about most things considered to be metaphysical. I have had my own experiences and agree with Granny that if we live our life, it sometimes brings forth experiences that cannot be easily explained.
Whereas I have experimented with lucid dreaming, meditation and self hypnosis, I have never bothered to study astrology charts. Still, throughout the years, I have picked up some information from my friends who are totally into astrology. I do not tell them that they are stupid because they are not. Some of them are very educated. And besides, I cannot prove or disprove astrology. I believe in letting people believe what they wish.
As a matter of fact, I have an aquaintance, a former JW and an attorney who still maintains his license to practice in another state on the west coast, who has his own astrolgy column that is featured in newspapers throughout the USA. He is a highly intelligent man and he makes a very good argument supporting his belief in astrology.
I do find it ironically funny that most people who scoff at astrology still know what their birth signs are. Of course, I usually dismiss that to ego. We all love talking about and learning about ourselves. To me, it's all good.
So, Baby, what's your sign? Is astrology possible? Is it silly? Or, like me, do you keep an open mind and your mouth shut around others who believe?
Thank you for your comments.
Robyn
BTW, I'm a Taurus, Libra ascendant, Cancer moon.

I also find it ironically funny that a person who thinks that astral projection is moronic would still read this thread and be moved to comment to it. A saying by Shakespeare comes to mind: "methinks that thou protests too much."
Realist, what do you think about astrology? Is it possible?
Love,
Robyn

weak people
by vanilla sky inis it sad to anybody that people can jump from one stupid idea to another.
i mean what else can you believe in after the jehovahs witness's.
why just jump from belief to another.

Why just jump from belief to another. Are people that weak or is it the reason why they got sucked in?
Some of us were raised JWs. When we grew old enough to think for ourselves and to leave home, we did. When you find out that the religion that you were raised in isnt true, why not look for something else?
Would you marry the first person that came along or would you wait, take your time, date lots of people, observe and then marry the one that you felt would be true?
Part of the joy of life is to experience different things, to try variety. Why would you exchange one set of false beliefs for another? Many former witnesses become atheist. I wouldn't call that just jumping from one belief to another.
What is the purpose for phrasing your question the way you did? In particular, I wonder about this phrase of yours:
Is it sad to anybody that people can jump from one stupid idea to another. i mean what else can you believe in after the jehovahs witness's
You sound like a JW asking where will you go if you leave? That is a favorite question of theirs. You sound familiar, havent't we met you here before, under a different alias?
Whether you are a JW or not, welcome to the forum.
