Why on earth does a group of government employees need collective bargaining? Why shouldn't they pay into their own retirement plan, like I do? Why shouldn't they pay for apart of their own insurance, like I do? Why shouldn't they be fired for doing a shitty job, like I can be? Why can't they negotiate their pay, like I do? Why do they need a Union negotiating everything for them?

Why on earth do you need to pay into your own retirement plan? Why do you pay for a part of your own insurance? Why do you have to negotiate your pay? It's because you do not have a union.

I have never understood the attitude of "I don't have it so why should they have it?" I've always thought if they have something I want, I should fight to get the same thing.

FYI, a union member can be fired for doing a shitty job. It happens all the time. Sometimes the union workers can be fired for missing work, it happens all the time and the Unions do not protect them.

I'm a reformed flirt and not just because I am married now and do not wish to hurt my husband. I started backing off a few years ago when I realized that I was really just flirting for my own amusement, the thrill, and the desire for others to desire me. I began to think of myself as getting my kicks at the expense of others who were lonely and looking for love. I do not think that flirting is necessarily a sin, but sometimes it can cause others to be hurt.

my wife recovered from depression just 14 months ago and things have been going well.....so much so that i started a buisness for her and we are two weeks into it.

my labby was ill vomiting abit of discomfort, i thought great, you ate something bad again!

the vet gave him a shot and sent us home.

I have often thought the same. Much of what I know of love I learned while holding and watching my animals. They are absolutely responsible for my spiritual development. Much more so than anything I ever learned at the KH.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have an 18 year old tomcat, had him since he was a little bitty ball of fluff. He has been my dearest companion. He has given me love and comfort during my most difficult times. I know that we do not have much more time together and it causes me deep grief to know the day is coming when we will have to say good bye.

I wish I had words to help ease your pain. I know that some of the posters have said that time will help--and it does help lessen the pain. But I still grieve animals I had over 30 years ago. Every single one was a good and loyal pet and will always have a place in my heart.

I truly believe that our animals live on after passing through this physical veil. Many times I have felt them jump on the bed with me for a snuggle. Sometimes when I am drifting off I will catch a glimpse of them and they appear to be well and happy. It gives me comfort to think that I may see them again one day because anything, and I do mean anything, is possible. It's a vast universe and we will never uncover all its mysteries.

My thoughts and love are with you and your wife during this difficult time.

so he insisted so strongly (remember they were angels, they were even more stubborn than the typical sodomite) that the angeles gave in and went with lot to his home.

(gen 19:2-3) so lot baked bread and prepared food for the two angelical creatures..... in the evening all the man of sodom, yes you heard it right alllll the man of sodom (just imagine how many were there) came to have sex with the angels.

Scriptural proof of a paradise earth? Psalms 72:7; Isaiah 33:24

a very close person i know is trying to show biblical proof that there are two classes, one in heaven and the other on a paradise earth, i think i have the celestial class 144000 covered.

i was given these two scriptures as proof that there will be everlasting life on earth.. psalms 72:7 - in his days may the righteous flourish, and abundance of peace till the moon is no more.. isaiah 33:24 - and no resident will say, "i am sick"; the people who dwell there will be forgiven their iniquity.. would anyone have any brackground on these two scriptures and what they really apply to?.

I would say the Nation of Israel is still blessed. It's only been 5000 years of people attempting to annihilate us and they havent been able to do it. We are still here. Inventions by our scientists and the knowledge of our doctors have bettered and blessed mankind.

The premise behind every Jewish celebration: "They tried to kill us, they didn't, let's eat!"

Edited to add: I do not mean to imply by my post that Jews are spiritually superior to Christians. Nor do I appreciate implications that Christians are spiritually superior to Jews.

The OT is important too. The OT is like a darkened room. It's only when you bring the light of the NT to it that you are able to see it clearly. It's a large room with many items. As your understanding of the NT grows, you begin to see the outlines of the objects in the room. This grows until you can see the items clearly.

If you look at the OT from a Jewish or Atheist perspective ONLY, without the light of Christ, you will be confused.

Paul referred to looking at the OT without the understanding of Christ as looking through a glass darkly. (1Cor 13:12)

Brother Dan, I quit believing in Christ as a savior long ago because I do not believe in original sin. Neither do the rest of the Jews since we interpret Genesis symbolically. Paul started another branch of Judaism that later became known as Christianity. You have your book and we have ours. The two are not very compatable.

The scriptures probably dont mean anything near what you think they mean. They are books from the Jewish Bible. The Tanakh was not written for Christians nor is it easily understood by Christians. You would save yourself and others a lot of heartache if you stuck to your Bible, The New Testament.
