  Anyone saw "Iron Man"?

  I saw it the first day it came out and then saw it again last night with friends and family.

  I didn't read all the post, so I don't know if this was stated, but for those of you who have not seen the movie, you have to wait till the end, when ALL the credits go up, and believe me there are a lot of credits. Everybody and their momma were involved with this movie, about 5 minutes of credits, but for you comic book fans, worth it!

  Anyways, look forward to the "Avengers" movie when it comes out!

  The original Avengers had Iron Man, Thor, Ant Man and The Hulk.

  My father was the first born son, the seventh in line of 18, my mother was one of 23, all single births. Both my grandmothers lived to be 95, 96. I have first cousins I have never met.

  has anybody noticed in many recent watchtowers that christ is now said to have "turned his attention to the earth in 1914.".

  unlike the 60's they do not say christ "came" in 1914. the "proclaimers book " p137 says the bible students came to discern that "christ did not return, (even invisibly), in 1914.".

  the way is now paved.

  That's because the Bible Students then, as they do now, believe that Christ returned in 1874.

  Much of the persecution that the Witnesses suffered under were during the first 2 world wars. This was a time of patriotism, and the Witnesses were going around condemning everything in sight. The USA was at war, and the JW's were going about preaching the end of the US and the rest of the world powers. Not a very popular message.

  While I do believe persuction will come, this persecution will affect many, not just the JW's.

  i remember in my teen years thinking about the constant warnings of satan "transforming himself into an angel of light" and wondering how in the world did i stand a chance against a demon?!

  a demon thats had thousands of years to suss things out and trick people in various different ways without them even knowing.

  he led angels to rebellion.

  these concerns are almost always the same, and are founded in mythology created by the watchtower society, and some evangelical denominations.

  Each time we made a change, it has been a matter of us discussing things and coming to mutual agreement. Sometimes the initiative for a change was mine, sometimes it was hers.

  Watch out Tom, at the rate you're going, you may find yourself with the Jehovah's Witnesses again!

  That was not stated. When it comes to matters teaching on "faith and morals" neither the Church nor the Pope can err. When it comes to living a perfect life, we are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God, including the Pope.

  Strangely enough, that's exactly what the Watchtower teaches!

  Ahhhh ... kinder, yes ... with firey hail stones striking and buring people, fleash falling off their bodies, and eyes bursting out of their heads ... all at Watchtower Armageddon ... kinder .... mmmmmmm ... strange sense of kind.

  But's at least it's over quickly, not forever and forever being tortured!

  The Bible clearly teaches that one is resurrected to heaven upon their death. Jesus promised as much to the man on the cross next to him ... and the Apostle Paul confirmed it as well ... and early Christian teaching held that view. And no we do not have to commune with them if we do not wish. But, the point of this post was to show how Catholics view such communication, and the fact that it is not as presented by many non-Catholics.

  Not that I have ever heard. When visiting the USA he openly stated that non-Catholics are our Christian brothers and that we all all in this together.

  it was pretty interesting, but i have to say i didn't get it completely.
