  Dubs Good For Economy !!!!!!!

  Actually, dubs are good for the economy. Consider:

  1. Since they believe there is no future, their savings are low. This keeps currency in circulation.

  2. They burn tremendous amounts of fuel, which provides profits for oil companies.

  3. They utilize nearly obsolete, but still functional assets (such as 1940's clothing, and old mini vans), that would otherwise be wasted.

  4. They spend their vacations in otherwise vacant hockey arenas, providing civic revenues and keeping hospitality industry dollars in their own communities.

  5. They provide a low-cost, reliable, form of labor. After all, someone has to clean the toilets. Just think about it - if you were a janitorial contractor, where else could you get a floor scrubber who was capable of addressing 10,000 people?

  So, maybe they do provide some usefulness to society.

  I've already forwarded them to the two daily papers in my area. Interestingly, the person responsible for news tips at one of the papers was raised as a Witness. Hopefully, they will get picked up.

  Jehovah seems to be a bit of an empty boaster. Your quote shows that the Israelites, complete with God's backing, couldn't defeat iron chariots. Yet, he said:

  "For you shall drive out the Canaanites, though they have chariots of iron, and though they are strong." (Joshua 17:18)

  I guess Jehovah shouldn't shoot his mouth off.

  we have all heard all the crap about 666, now does anyone have any conjecture or idea about 616?

  i have only heard of one possible conclusion to this so far.

  616 is generaly found in the oldest manuscripts.

  OK, according to the society, the number six stands for imperfection, and three stands for emphasis. So, three sixes mean imperfection to the ultimate degree.

  More mainstream scholars believe that the ancient practice of numerology is being used. If you convert the letters of a name into numbers, then add them up, it comes to 666. Based on the time that Revelation was written, and the viewpoint of the writer, it appears to point to one of the Roman Emperors, I forget which one. This is also consistent with the mainstream interpretation of Babylon the Great, as referring to the Roman Empire itself.

  last night at meeting they told us to just use our blood cards from last year.

  in the past they've always told us how important it was to get it signed every year so that people could see our current views as jw's.....doesn't this new arangement negate everything they've ever said in regards to this?

  This is a truly remarkable development. It makes me wish I had gone to the meeting.

  Every year, it was pounded into us that the validity of any card more than a year old could be questioned.

  The absence of the new cards this year is a huge, huge development. It represents the next (and most significant) nail in the blood ban coffin. (which is right where it belongs, next to the tragic victims of the policy).

  Let's not forget that these worldwide numbers are being propped up by uneducated, desperate people in eastern Europe and Africa.

  Developed, western nations are all in decline. As well, the membership in these countries is aging fast.

  The Society is in big trouble in its core market.

  Any Ideas on how to help those Lost Dubs??

  we need to put our heads together here - we need to figure out how to gently help those who come here seeking information to realize what it is the borg is trying to hide from them.... .

  lets face it - it takes alot for those who are in or newly associated to get on here and start to look... .

  how can we make this an easier thing for them - so that we don't over whelm them??.

  When I began deprogramming myself, I found that numerous information sources were not acceptable.

  To a loyal JW, apostate information is definitely not acceptable. Even scientific and historical information is suspect, if it does not agree with the WTBTS. So, I found that the only way to disprove the teachings of the Society, was with their own words.

  So, I spent a year or two compiling quotes that highlighted their doctrinal changes, documented lies, dumb statements, intentional misquotations, and claims to divine inspiration.

  Best of all, these documents are 100% Society words, so the claim of apostacy can be easily overcome.

  An early version of these documents is on line. But, if anyone wanted to host an updated version, in a different format, I'm sure that there wouldn't be a problem

  INFORMAL WITNESSING

  i've got a bunch of those sl printouts, and i've got one pasted to a window in my work vehicle.

  posted one at the supermarket by my house, but noticed the other day that it had been taken down.

  gotta replace it.. several weeks ago, a car load of 'hovahs pulled up next to me at a convenience store to get their lunch while out in service.

  I've noticed the same thing.

  After a lifetime of preaching the end of the world, I had not even come close to directing anyone toward JW's. Yet, in the last few years, I have had numerous opportunities to fill people in on the real "truth".

  Although, I can't yet claim that I have cured anyone of the "truth", I have performed numerous vaccinations. (Of course, always making sure that they are blood free)
