I will never cease to be amazed at the irony of this.
Here is a group that spends >1 Billion hours per year knocking on doors trying to talk to people, uninvited. But, when a person seeks them out and tries to talk to them, you must fill out an application.
I think that they should have to fill out an application for every door they knock on.

You see, they believe that he has already "sat down" on this throne - but has not yet "stood up" in kingly power. He is "present" - but has not yet "come".
Their whole take on the issue is a crock. They can't even explain it.

I assumed that the minimum age of annointed was 30 in 1935 (this was Jesus' age when he was baptized, and a not unreasonable minimum age for being chosen as a king in heaven.)
I also used actuarial tables, since the mortality rate will vary with age.
The bottom line of all of this, is that, if the Society's goofy doctrine is true, about 85% of all annointed are fake.
Here's another interesting point. In three years, I run out of actuarial tables. I can't find one for people over 100 years of age. So, at that point, we can say that they are virtually all fake.

i was thinking today about all the time i spent on the ministry.. walking down the street with my suit and briefcase ready to defend the truth.. i recalled some of the conversations i had , had.some of the bible studies i conducted, the talks i had given the groups i had taken.. i remmebered the way i defended my faith and belief in jehovah and the jehovahs witness organisation.. how much i must have believed it was the truth.. i spent 3 years as an auxillary pioneer and called on many thousands of people.. yet all along i was wrong.. every time i defened my beliefs i was wrong.. every talk i studied and prepeared long and hard for, i was wrong.. all the things i gave up for the truth i was wrong.. what an idiot.
Yes, Sleepy, although I have always considered myself to be fairly smart, I feel really stupid (not to mention embarrassed), about having been a JW.
Just imagine, defending the idea that the human race began 6000 years ago, and that the world was coming to an end, any second now.
I take consolation in the fact that, in the past, the smartest people in the world believed that the earth was the center of the universe, and that the sun circled it. They weren't dumb for believing something that was wrong, they just didn't have the information. The Society has built a wall around their people, to try and prevent them from getting accurate, unbiased information. That's more than stupid, it's criminal.
But, I still have a hard time accepting that I ever swallowed this trash.
The point is, are we going to spend our lives being a product of the past, or a cause of the future?
eu has noticed that a number of persons making up this forum are guilty of showing disrespect to jehovah's witnesses.
some refer to jws as 'hovahs and others talk about kingdumb hells, all the time professing to follow christ.. some may justify their rude behavior by saying that jws themselves can be rude.
even if the charge is true, and eu is not really convinced that it is, why cannot ex-jws rise above the fray?
I, for one, take offence at the idea that I may not be adequately respectful to Jehovah's representatives, and in fact, his princes.
Personally, I have the utmost respect for those stupid pieces of shit.

Yes, thanks Bill. The show had a huge impact in my family. My wife, who is a firm JW believer, has taped the show, labeled it, and write-protected the cassette. It had a big impact.
