"I've begun worshipping the sun for a number of reasons. First of all, unlike some other gods I could mention, I can see the sun. It's there for me every day. And the things it brings me are quite apparent all the time: heat, light, food, a lovely day. There's no mystery, no one asks for money, I don't have to dress up, and there's no boring pageantry. And interestingly enough, I have found that the prayers I offer to the sun and the prayers I formerly offered to God are all answered at about the same 50-percent rate." - George Carlin

Will many prayers work better than just one prayer?
by JH indid you honestly believe that praying for someone else or someone praying for you would have a better chance of working than just the person praying alone for himself?.
gee, why would god need many people to pray for one person?
isn't one prayer honest enough?

Told one of my Return Visits that I wont be coming around anymore
by XBEHERE inwe were out with a group on saturday and circumstances came up that i had a chance, for a change, to do one of my rv's alone.
i knocked on the door and she came out asking if i was dropping off the new magazines.
since i had them i said yes and then proceeded to tell her that i can't drop them off anymore.

Wow. Now, that's what I call a field service experience. It brings to mind my daughter trick or treating last fall. Her friend told every house that this was my daughter's first time trick or treating, because she used to be a Jehovah's Witness. They cleaned up. I'll bet the JWs get some strange responses when they work that street.

by Scully indear john lithgow and will smith:.
we are writing to determine whether you gave permission to the watchtower society to use your likenesses in their publications.. the following illustration (which they refer to in legal documents as "artwork") appeared on page 23 in the september 1, 1997 issue of the watchtower magazine, and was reproduced in the annual "bound volume" of the same periodical.. .
as you can see, the figure represented on the bottom left bears a striking resemblance to mr. lithgow, while the figure on the bottom right bears a striking resemblance to mr. smith.

Don't all circuit overseers drive Buick LeSabres? You'd think all that spirituality would have moved them down the destruction list. I would think a Dodge Demon would have been more appropriate.

Yes, specifically, I used the gam71 actuarial table. There are more recent ones, however, this one would have been valid for the period analyzed. Also, I melded the male and female rates, assuming equal quantities of both.

let's say god exists, well then ...
by zagor inif i consider for a moment that god exists, he would be an all-powerful intellect wouldnt he, so he would have created man with the same intellectual qualities as stated in genesis 1:26 wouldn't he?
why then, would religions or a religion that 'represents' him here on earth try to limit the use of that intellect?
why such a fear of independent thinking?!?!?!

I think you already know the answer to that. The con game called religion falls apart if you think about it too clearly.
Come, bask in the light of atheism with us. -
