How could there be Fugitives?
This should have been the title of the above post, but I forgot to add it. I have tried to edit the post but keep on getting error messages
Any ideas anyone?

Problem with the account of Cain.
Does anyone know the age of Cain when he killed Abel. I have heard the figure of 35/40 years mentioned.
The reason I ask this is, when he killed Abel he fled to the land of fugitiveness – who were the people living there? Now according to the Glorious Brothers these were the offspring of Adam and Eve. Bearing in mind that Cain was the first born. How could a group of people develop so quickly to populate the land and to be considered a threat to Cain?

Dear Faundy,
I last met your mum and dad at the curry night out, I do love that type of food, but my enjoyment was not the food but the company of Ian and Claire.
Unfortunately we found them late in life after wasting 30 years with "you know who" when we could have spent so much more time with lovely Ian and Claire. I personally regard them as my TRUE friends.
I will miss Ian.
All my love Ken.

Ex-JW's in Telford, Shropshire
by grahammaskill inhello, i am an ex-jw new to this site.
i was wondering if there was anyone from telford in shropshire, or indeed in the county of shropshire itself, that would like to drop me a line.
i have been out of the religion for some years now but even now am having to deal with the emotional repercussions.

Hello Graham,
Welcome to the forum - we look forward to hearing more from you - Post a little more about yourself if possible. Did you come out of the JWs alone or with your family etc.
We live in Herefordshire (UK) and left the Org. about 5 years ago, after 30+ years in the cult! Finding out about the UN Involvement was the turning point for us.

Public Talk & Bookstudy Changes - the real reason
by bud2114 ini havn't been able to keep up with all the discussion in this forum as to why the gb has suddenly decided to implement these changes and perhaps someone has mentioned this already, but to me the most obvious reason has nothing to do with control, or money.
it has everything to do with the serious shortage of qualified brothers who can (or who are willing to) be used.
i have been involved in the organzation for 40 yrs and i have never seen the level of apathy and disillusionment among those serving in some capacity in this organization.

I'm pleased to hear that at last, elders and servants are realising the discrepancies that lie within the Org. Is it the demise of this Org? I certainly hope so.
If there is a shortage of elders, what they could do, is what happened in our past cong. (Hereford, UK) when there was a dispute with the so-called "quality" of reading from the brothers, they replaced the readers with sisters who read in the home book-study, this was done even though brothers were in attendance! And more so, in front of any visiting bros and sisters.
Now that was "REAL Wisdom" wasn't it.
I personally didn't have any objection to sisters being used in this way - but that was my opinion, not the so-called Glorious Ones!
Is the ship sinking - even the cabin boy knows there's problems when the water is lapping around his ankles

Ian (Dansk) in hospital with CMV
by Alleymom inhi, everyone ---.
claire asked me to let the board know that ian is back in the hospital and expected to be there for about a week.. those of you who have been following the weekly vigil thread know that his cmv has returned.
the virus is not responding adequately to the tablets, so ian needs to be medicated intravenously.. please keep ian and claire in your prayers.. marjorie.
