  when i think back of how the elders were viewed, even when i was a kid, i recognize that many people were deathly afraid of the elders.

  my brother had been appointed in the 70s shortly after the elder arrangement was put into effect.

  so my family always had an "in" because of our theocratic connections----not that my brother was very forceful.

  or if there is one already...point me to it...the longer i am here...the more i realize that the fds/wt may have started with good intentions like maybe the pharisees did....but they went nutso and added a zillion things not even in the bible and so have the fds...some of these things are minor and some are not...like".

  1. hatred of mens facial hair and sideburns (privileges witheld if you have too much or wrong style) also length of mens hair.

  2. clothing requirements, ties/jackets/suits mandatory for ministry/talks/privileges....and sisters can freeze there ass of rather than wear a hilliary clinton pantsuit or they can not be on the school.

  Here in England, before being given the "privilege" to carry the microphones or being used on the "STAGE", You had to wear a suit (jacket and trousers the same material" )

  Yet the Glorious ones could get away with not wearing a suit!!!! Often it would be a sports jacket and trousers (different material, different colour) This was probably a "Local" rule. Did anyone else come across this nonsense?

  Women not allowed to wear trouser suits.

  As a JW were You Told to Not Report or Be Silent about Child Abuse ?

  as most of you know in 2002 barbara anderson and bill bowen were on the dateline program which revealed that child abuse victims had been theatened with disfellowshipping from the jehovah's witnesses for reporting child abuse to the police and authorities .

  and this actually happened to many victims and their families for standing up in behalf of the safety of abused children !.

  most here are aware of the out of court child abuse settlements the wt society made with 16 witness child abuse victims in 2007. a gag order was placed on victims so they would not speak of their experiences with the media.

  When you hear the amount of instances of this sought of thing, when you think of the ones who "DO NOT REPORT IT", plus those that do not have the internet to express themselves, as Blondie said, how can God be backing this shocking Org.

  Jehovah has given guide lines as to what to do,…….Lev.5 v 5…"And it must occur that in case he becomes guilty as respects one of these things, then he must confess in what he has sinned "

  All these self appointed princes are aiding and abetting SIN they are accomplices to these ungodly practices.

  Or are we going to hear what was said after the war............ "we were only taking orders"

  "Jesus did say that when he arrived he would find a faithful and discreet slave faithfully feeding "

  If Jesus did not arrive in 1914, then there can’t be a faithful and discreet slave class yet ?, he has not yet arrived, yet another puzzle we are left with!

  I was in the org. for 30 years, I thought I could hold myself against anyone when it came to finding and using scriptures.

  When I left (because of U.N. involvment etc.) and read many other books, (frowned on by the wts) I realised that they have not got the sole rights to his word, and they certainly did not have the correct interpretations of the scriptures, they have got SO MANY PROPHESIES WRONG, you have to take seriously the scripture in Deu.18 20 –22. There Jehovah is telling us not to be taken in.

  As I say after 30 years I believe in Jehovah and Jesus Christ but my knowledge I believe is very questionable eg;

  What do I think is going to happen after death!!!!!!!!!!

  I know all the scriptures in Isaiah, Psalms, Revelation, but there are others that make you wonder what the real answer is, in other words I can find the scriptures, but as to their true meaning I am lost.

  Elders.

  Elders are in a position of teaching, teaching to the public.

  James 3 v1, not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, knowing that we receive heavier judgement.

  There is a clear warning to make SURE what you are teaching is accurately researched and investigated before opening your mouth, not to accept just the wts version, but to get outside the box !, ………………(they have been wrong a "few" times in the past ?

  oftentimes as interpreted by one or two 'big personality' elders.

  I certainly found that to be true.

  In my very last cong. We had a hit man, B.D. he was used at tricky times to sought things out, did not have ½ ounce of Christianity or common sense, always had to flex his muscles.

  When I read what I print, sometimes I think I must have been an Absolute idiot for putting up with them (elders) for so long.
